Where you live shouldn't impact your ability to have a healthy pregnancy and birth. However, data from March of Dimes shows that more women are struggling to access care before, during and after pregnancy, which can be attributed to a 4 percent decrease in birthing hospitals in one year, This #MaternalHealthAwarenessDay, we ask that you help us shine a light on the #maternalhealth disparities in the US, to help bring forward effective and lasting solutions in order to eliminate disparities and increase access to care for these women. I live in a community which lost obstetrical services. It speaks volumes to how undervalued women and families truly are not prioritized. I understand many of the rationale though a birth center, triage unit, something that is not an Hour away is needed in these communities. Who can we get behind these ideas across the country?
