🗣️ #ICYMI #FECM announced 2 projects selected to receive a total of $23.2 million to evaluate the potential of oil and gas production and geologic storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) from unconventional reservoirs through a combined process that uses captured CO2 emissions to recover residual oil—called CO2 enhanced oil recovery (CO2-EOR). The projects will help evaluate the feasibility for permanent storage of CO2 in depleted unconventional shale oil and gas reservoirs, repurposing existing infrastructure in support of the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic decarbonization goals. US Gulf of Mexico Update: Walter Oil & Gas Corporation (operator) and partner Talos Energy have announced positive results from their EW953 well in the Ewing Bank Protraction Area. This discovery, with an estimated 15-25 MMBoe of recoverable resources, is positioned within several of TGS' advanced 3D seismic datasets, including Flex Vision and Sophies Refocus. With tieback planned to the South Timbalier 311 Megalodon platform, production could begin as early as mid-2026. Innovation in the natural gas sector benefits society in a number of ways, an International Gas Research Conference (IGRC2024) 2024 panel moderated by Enbridge Gas President Michele Harradence discussed in Banff.  The panel talked about how natural gas innovation can and is helping the world work toward broad environmental goals while balancing the equally critical elements of reliability and affordability. Buru Energy is excited to share that it has completed an initial review of the fast-tracked processing volume of the Rafael 3D seismic survey over its Rafael conventional gas and condensate discovery, with initial interpretation reconfirming the significant potential of the resource. The fast-tracked data has also met one of its principal objectives of assisting to locate optimal appraisal well locations, with appraisal drilling planned for the second half of 2024. Buru’s CEO, Thomas Nador, said “I am very pleased with the initial indications of a very significant step up in data quality of the Rafael 3D seismic survey, and the early insights gleaned from it in such a short period of time following survey acquisition. These early results are consistent with our previous interpretations, and indeed we have observed encouraging signs both in terms of the Rafael structure as well as regional prospectivity.
