🌍 Reflecting on Zero Emissions Day Exactly one week ago today, we celebrated Zero Emissions Day, another reminder of how vital the role of renewable energy is for our road to a sustainable future. Let’s zoom in on what Germany is doing in contributing to this! 🔍 · 🌞 Targeting 80% Renewable Energy: Germany aims to have at least 80% of its electricity come from renewables by 2030. · ⚡ Expanding wind and solar energy: The government is tripling the pace of renewable energy expansion, focusing mainly on wind and solar. · 💡 Funding for innovation: New The German government is installing more and more laws that support projects that combine renewable energy with hydrogen storage solutions. · 🏘️ Community Engagement: Incentives for local energy cooperatives are fostering greater public participation in renewable projects. · 🌱 Commitment to Climate Neutrality: Germany aims for complete climate neutrality by 2045, heavily relying on renewable sources. As we look back on Zero Emissions Day, let’s continue to champion these efforts for a cleaner, sustainable future! #ZeroEmissionsDay #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #GermanyforCimateNeutrality #EnergieWende

🌍 To align with the Paris Agreement and meet net-zero targets by 2050, global emissions must drop by 30-40% this decade. Renewable energy, especially solar, has surpassed deployment expectations, driven largely by China’s impressive manufacturing capabilities. This progress has helped lower costs beyond what many experts had anticipated. Technologies like carbon capture, clean hydrogen, and decarbonizing freight transportation still have a long way to go. We must accelerate efforts across all fronts to meet our climate goals. #NetZero #ClimateAction #RenewableEnergy #SustainableFuture #ParisAgreement #CleanEnergy Reff: BloombergNEF

The EU’s “additionality” rules for green hydrogen are a critical step for clean energy and climate goals. Anna Lorant, our Senior Policy Manager, explained to Börsen-Zeitung that hydrogen producers must use new renewable energy plants, ensuring green hydrogen drives real progress. 🌍⚡ By 2030, stricter rules will require real-time alignment between hydrogen production and renewable energy. With demand rising, getting this right is essential. 🚨 Missteps could undermine green hydrogen’s climate benefits - banks and investors must promote compliance to protect both the planet and their reputations. 📖 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dmFEmbCH #GreenHydrogen #ClimateAction #RenewableEnergy

🌍 Today we celebrate the International Day of Clean Energy! A just and inclusive energy transition plays a crucial role in our collective battle against climate change and our commitment to achieving sustainable development. Clean energy isn't just about reducing our carbon footprint; it's about building resilient, locally empowered communities. Given the occasion, we would like to draw attention to the risks and challenges of importing hydrogen to Europe. We fear that widely praised plans to fund the build out of renewable energy capacities in sun-rich developing countries for the purpose of producing green hydrogen for Europe are not putting sufficient attention on not cannibalising the local energy transition. 💧 Read more on the risks and challenges of importing hydrogen to Europe 👉 https://lnkd.in/e6rTikG4 Instead of focusing all our attention on hydrogen, we should heavily invest in the build out of European electricity grids, the often-underappreciated backbone of our renewable energy future. Unlike traditional centralised power systems, new renewable energy systems embrace a more decentralised model. This highlights the role the grid will play in delivering clean energy directly to homes and businesses, empowering communities and fostering a sustainable future. ⚡ Check out these informative videos by Renewables Grid Initiative Grids Initiative on the importance of electricity grids 👉https://lnkd.in/dRzT-JEd #SDG7 #smartgrids #CleanEnergy #cleanenergyday #hydrogen #renewableenergy #energytransition
