🌟 Event Recap: QYP Great Debate 2024 🌟 Last week, the Queensland Young Planners (QYP) held their highly anticipated annual Great Debate, and it was a spectacular evening filled with insightful discussions and banter! 🎉 Ethos Urban was proud to sponsor this fantastic event, which brings together young and seasoned professionals to debate some of the big issues in the planning industry. This year’s topic, “Community Engagement… Whose role is it anyway?”, sparked some lively exchanges. We were thrilled to see our very own Kate McClure, Principal Engagement & Social Strategy, take the stage as a speaker and debater, and Lucy O'Malley, Urbanist, serve as the MC for the evening. Their participation showcased our commitment to supporting the next generation of planners and providing young professionals with opportunities to develop their skills in a supportive and fun environment. Key Takeaways from the Debate: 💡 The importance of following through in community engagement 💡 The quality, detail, and personability of engagement 💡 The unanimous agreement (post-debate, of course) that meaningful and successful community engagement is everyone’s role for great built environment outcomes A huge thank you to the Planning Institute of Australia’s Queensland Young Planners committee for organising such a fantastic event. It's great to be part of an initiative that fosters the talents of young planners and promotes professional growth. Here's to the future leaders of our industry! 🌟 Meg Luton Teah Hammet Ashley Everton Renee Livingstone #QYPGreatDebate #CommunityEngagement #YoungPlanners #ProfessionalDevelopment #PlanningIndustry #FutureLeaders
