🦉 🔎 Meet E-GOV OWL: our new project aimed to overview and discuss digital transformation in Central Eastern Europe! 🔵 In this issue, we explore the digital transformation journeys of 11 EU Member States in Central Eastern Europe, highlighting the most important institutional and legislative changes over the recent year. Why did we launch this initiative? 👉 We believe in fast, brave digital transformation journeys that are focused on tangibly improving citizens’ lives while cutting red tape whenever possible. 👉 Digital transformation should not mean merely digitizing old and rigid bureaucracy. Instead, countries should seize digital transformation as an opportunity to simplify processes for both citizens and public service - offline and online. 👉 We support a rules-based international order and believe digital transformation should not compromise security by relying on high-risk vendors. 👉 Democratizing the digital agenda debate is important. We firmly believe that knowledge exchange should be more inclusive and accessible. 👉 Despite past successes, many Central Eastern European countries lag behind the European Union average in various digital transformation parameters—and learning from each other’s experiences is key. 👉CEE's digital transformation experience is easily applicable in other regions of the world. Therefore, good (and bad) practices in digital transformation should be shared freely. 🔴 Click the link in the comments to find the report & support us by subscribing to our newsletter!🔴

Yesterday, the European Commission announced that the Interoperable Europe Act has officially become part of the EU's legal order. ⚖️ This paves the way to a new European era where public administrations in the EU will fundamentally level-up their public sector interoperability. WESTPOLE will continue to contribute to this adventure by helping institutions and public bodies to boost interoperability through adequate organization, resources and process. ⚙️ As for tooling, we remain convinced that data virtualization is a key accelerator for federating data and technologies to provide citizens with understandable, trustable and accessible info. We will support DIGIT future data virtualization projects with Denodo. 💪

I was surprised that some customers have 500-600 ms network delay from Southeast Asia to Europe storage data centers. And the speed is about a little over 1Mbps, which is literally unusable. It seems for Europe storage providers, an accelerated data transfer solution is a must, not an optional if Asian market is continuously growing in considering that Asian families are enjoying more family photos and videos, and Asian young men are getting more creative at media works, especially Southeast Asia. We will probably see a bigger boom of creative content in Southeast Asia in the following decade.

Common European Data Spaces are currently being developed in the EU across 14 sectors. To make this possible, standardisation and harmomisation are essential. Several initiatives, the CoE-DSC being one of them, aim to contribute to this. CEDAR EU also wants to contribute to Common European Data Spaces. CEDAR aims to create high-value datasets to enhance and combine the existing Common European Data Spaces (CEDS) and develop solutions for a more transparent public governance in Europe. CEDAR will identify, collect, fuse, harmonise, protect, and share new high-quality datasets. The project also aims to harmonise and standardise different public and private data sources into new unified datasets. Furthermore, it seeks to enable fair and secure data access to these datasets and integrate them with Common European Data Spaces available in Europe🔐 Read more at Innovation News Network: https://ow.ly/atgl50SSQl8 #data #datasharing #dataspace #publicgovernance
