The Voice of the Regions - A shared vision for stronger EU smart place-based policies. This has been a great final panel and message of the #S3_conference_2024 in #Rimini with the participation of four policymakers highlighting their sustainable economic development policies, generating social and environmental value. We need, as has been said, #leaderships that take risks for the benefit of the majority, and in defence of the European social economy model, a real "comparative advantage" of the continent that takes the most care of #people. We need to explore new #place_based economic and innovation opportunities based on real needs of the territories, creating new path developments that meet population problems within the #planetary_boundaries. Congratulations to the colleagues from ART-ER S. cons. p. a. and #Emilia_Romagna, together with the #S3_CoP partnership and #DG_Regio for the great organisation and content. By the way, perhaps the fact that all four were #women is no longer striking, or is it?

A guide to sustainable development for businesses in Switzerland 🌱 🇨🇭 The Swiss Federal Council has enacted an action plan with 22 measures for the years 2024–2027, with the goal of accelerating the 2030 Agenda. Companies can help address the climate issue by conserving resources and reducing emissions through initiatives like boosting energy consultations or designing photovoltaic systems for entire municipal regions. Thus, it is recognized that one of the key drivers behind sustainable development is the economy. Many businesses are considering ways to strengthen their corporate social responsibility, which will indirectly support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). But the amount of tools and metrics that are available can easily become overwhelming for one to manage. Therefore, the 2030 Agenda Toolbox was created for this reason which combines all the instruments, best practices, and efforts into a new platform. Check it out to improve your sustainability practices in order to achieve the SDGs! 👇 https://lnkd.in/ehrKCcnz https://lnkd.in/epsQUTCM [D, F, I] Federal Office for Gender Equality, Federal Office for Spatial Development ARE, Federal Office for the Environment FOEN, United Nations #2030agenda #csr #sdgs #sustainabledevelopmentgoals #switzerland

The Netherlands ranked 9/170 on the Social Progress Index with the best score on the opportunity! Besides government, business has a major impact on social progress. Business is not only at the center of the global sustainability transition. No solution to the climate, ecological, and inequality crisis is possible without business action. Over the next decade, companies will need to align purpose, strategy, and ambition with long-term value creation for society. The latest report of the Social Progress Imperative clearly shows that besides sustainability we are facing a challenge of the erosion of human rights and the stagnation of equality efforts. #ESG #socialprogress #beyondGDP #socialprogressindex

As we get into the Youth thematic Day, it is crucial to recognize the challenges young people face and provide the support they need to overcome them. Known for their energy, innovation, resilience, and determination in addressing crises, young people require guidance and mentorship to reach their full potential. #COP29 Equally important, youth and children must be actively included in discussions, negotiations, and decision-making processes related to policies and their implementation. This inclusion is essential for shaping a secure and sustainable future through unified efforts toward a shared goal.
