We elevate your life satisfaction by helping you gracefully overcome challenging mental health issues. We have expertise in TMS and nasal Es-Ketamine treatments for difficult to treat mental health disorders.
At our practice: The most common side effect of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) we see is discomfort or headache at the site of stimulation, which occurs in approximately 30-50% of patients, according to recent studies. This discomfort, often described as a tapping or knocking sensation on the scalp, can sometimes escalate to mild to moderate headaches, particularly during the initial sessions. While this side effect can be uncomfortable, it generally subsides quickly after the session or diminishes with continued treatment as patients acclimate to the stimulation. Importantly, TMS does not introduce systemic side effects, such as weight gain, drowsiness, or gastrointestinal issues, which are often associated with medications used to treat depression and other mental health disorders. This makes TMS a preferred option for those who are sensitive to medication side effects or have not found success with pharmacological interventions. Although the physical discomfort from TMS can be a barrier, many patients find it manageable and worthwhile in exchange for its targeted, non-systemic approach to mental health treatment.

The Impact of Diabetes on Mental Health Diabetes significantly impacts mental health, leading to increased risks of depression, anxiety, and diabetes distress due to the constant demands of managing the condition. The stress of continuous glucose monitoring and fear of complications can cause psychological strain. Moreover, fluctuations in blood glucose levels can directly affect mood and cognitive function. It's vital for individuals with diabetes to seek support through counseling or support groups and incorporate stress-reducing activities such as exercise or meditation. Addressing mental health is a crucial part of comprehensive diabetes care, enhancing overall well-being and treatment adherence.

92% of districts we meet with state they want to get more proactive around mental health but are already too overwhelmed with immediate intervention. The last 10 years has seen a steady and at times steep rise in youth mental health incidents. This gave rise to more resources to meet students where they are at - immediate interventions. But yet the problem persists. Does that mean immediate intervention is the wrong approach? Absolutely not... but what it does tell us is immediate intervention alone will not solve the problem the problem macro. Think of it this way. We know there are preventative measures you can take to prevent or delay heart disease. Exercise, healthy diet, etc. We also know immediate intervention through cardiac medicine can become necessary and is invaluable. Would you solely rely on the latter or would you try to prevent heart disease from ever taking root? Better question would you rather a holistic approach of screening, preventative education (diet and exercise), and then when necessary intervention? I think the answer for most is quite obvious. Maro helps districts across the country get more holistic in their approach while supporting their intervention working - taking the heavy lift off of their credentialed staff. This is the way forward. We are opening our calendar to meet with any teams that are feeling the need to do something different. Please fee free schedule time to meet with us through our website. We are waiting to support your districts YMH initiatives.

Day 4 🔸 120 push-ups 🔸 Remember when your parents used to tell you to “go outside and get some fresh air”? It turned out they were onto something. Research suggests that spending at least 120 minutes per week in nature can significantly improve our health and wellbeing 🌳 According to studies, the health benefits of nature include improved cardiovascular health, reduced risk of obesity and diabetes, and positive effects on cognitive development for children. Studies indicate that in addition to improved physical health, spending time in nature leads to improved mental wellbeing and reduced stress. When we spend time in nature, our levels of cortisol – aka the stress hormone – drop. Our levels of anxiety and rumination also decrease following exposure to nature, while negative affect (translation: bad mood) is also improved. We challenge you to try one (or more) of these 5 things this week: ☀️ step outside for a microbreak every two hours 🚲 walk or bike to work 🍉 enjoy meals outside 👣 have a walking meeting 🍃 involve nature in family time Visit our website for the full Mental Health Fact.

In Ukraine, depression is the most common problem among mental disorders. A significant part of the population has never consulted specialists and does not even consider depression a disease. However, the disorder in which a person loses the will to live is rapidly progressing in society. In order to better determine whether you suffer from depression, it is worth looking at its main signs, which can be conditionally divided into 4 categories: Emotional: depressed mood, insomnia, impaired activity, rapid fatigue and loss of energy, low self-esteem, lack of concentration. Behavioral: nervousness, tension, irritability, sharp mood swings Mental: inability to sensibly make important decisions, slowing of thinking. Physiological: increased fatigue, insomnia or early awakening, decreased sex drive, body aches. #:Local Health System Sustainability Project (LHSS) USAID This project was made possible by the support of the American people, provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Sustainable Health Systems Development Project grant.
