Unfortunately systems don't end up on landfills, but products do. Cicularity of systems is crucial and I fully concur, yet if we don't think of the actual product we are creating a perfect system for, well we would have only solved the tip of the problem.  Most of us here live the problem, the availability or scarcity thereof rather of raw material is scary. The industry will not be saved by systems I'm afraid. I recently bought 8 Items from H&M in the RECYCLED POLYESTER COLLECTION IN SOUTH AFRICA JOHANNESBURG. To my horrified disappointment, 15 days late, 3 washes, these item have been losing fibers, creating lint, shedding particles (I have images, slips with dates and price) to prove my point. These items will not last me thus winter...  So as much as I appreciate the talk and initiatives on systems, people consume product and product quality determines its longevity and lifespan out of a landfill.

Meet the participants of The Fashion ReModel. Zalando, H&M Group, Primark, and Arc'teryx are among the first participants of our latest fashion demonstration project, embarking on the journey to reinvent our current wasteful linear system. ⬇️ The project aims to unlock barriers in order to scale circular business models and begin to decouple revenue from production. 🔮 Following the progress made in The Jeans Redesign 2019 - 2023, we explore how we can move from redesigning products to redesigning the system, and forge a path towards a more resilient future, where the fashion industry has a new way of doing business. It’s time to make circular business models the norm. Explore the project here: https://lnkd.in/epDBMWdS #TheFashionRemodel #CircularEconomy
