EOM: End of Month, right? January is typically the hardest month of the year to get through for many of us. (To read more, go to NAMI.org) We're recovering from post holiday finances, family interactions, re-entering work, going through performance reviews, and engaging with new KPI's and OKR's for the year, and for some processing layoffs. Let's use the end of the month as a point celebration: ----->What's a highlight of this month? ---->When did you feel empowered? --->Who was there for you when times were a bit tough? Let's create a culture of celebration at the end of this month and move into February with positivity.

Mentorship Truly Is The Magic In My Life ✨ Excited to share my story and the magic of mentorship at CDW Canada today! As I reflect on my professional journey, I can't help but feel immense gratitude for the guidance and support I've received from mentors along the way. Their wisdom, encouragement, and willingness to share their experiences have played a pivotal role in shaping my career trajectory. Mentorship goes beyond just imparting knowledge; it's a transformative relationship that nurtures both personal and professional growth. It empowers mentees to tackle challenges with confidence, embrace opportunities, and unlock their full potential. For mentors, it's a chance to give back, invest in the next generation of leaders, and witness their mentees' growth and achievements firsthand. At CDW Canada, today's event allows me to not only share my experiences but also to learn from others' unique perspectives and journeys. It's a chance to foster connections, build a strong network, and inspire each other to reach new heights. I truly believe that mentorship is a key driver of success in any organization. When individuals come together to support and uplift one another, the possibilities are endless. I encourage everyone to embrace the power of mentorship and create a positive impact on both their careers and the careers of those around them. I am looking forward to an engaging and enriching mentorship in the corporate space and celebrating mentorship and the boundless potential it brings — So if you are ready to discuss mentorship at the corporate level, let’s get to work #MentorshipMatters #CDWCanada #CareerGrowth #LeadershipDevelopment #SuccessStory

Sales gets a bad rap, but I think about it differently. Selling Ither, my text-based software for volunteers who hate technology, is really about delivering value to individuals with a real problem. In every touchpoint, I want prospects to feel important, connected, and excited about how technology can expand their community impact. Here's how I built a highly engaged initial audience for Ither: 1) Through talking to 40+ volunteer engagement professionals, I identified something of value to them: Networking & comradery. I also learned that the primary blocker is that it takes effort to organize events, and no one has the time. 2) I found an efficient way to communicate it. The United Way was happy to share their nonprofit contacts to invite, and I plan to return the information better than I got it, by updating bounces and expanding the list. The United Way connection also helps build my credibility! 3) I hosted a great event that suited the prospects. United Way helped set me up for success and gave me tips, like what time and location had been successful in the past. 4) I earned my 5 minutes of platform time, especially because I've got something interesting and relevant to talk about. Better (and cheaper) than a conference booth! I proud I put some time and money into building the Charlottesville Volunteer Engagement Professionals group. Volunteering is important, and empowering the people who empower volunteers has a compounding effect on our community!
Ither by Side Nerd Apps, our volunteer tracking product, is hosting our second Volunteer Engagement Professionals Happy Hour at Three Nothch'd in Cville on June 6th. Please share with individuals in the space! RSVP on Facebook (https://lnkd.in/eeMTjTcY) or by reaching out to me directly! In March, we had representatives join from Sexual Assault Resource Agency, American Red Cross, CHARLOTTESVILLE AREA TREE STEWARDS, UVA Student-Athlete Success, Camp Holiday Trails, SCORE Mentors, Cultivate Charlottesville, and more. Professionals were able to make new connections and support each other, and we're doing it again!

Congratulations to Alli O'Connell, Beth Foster-Chao, and Cyrus R. Martin!! As part of our DEI strategy, the Autodesk Foundation redesigned our website to be more transparent, inclusive, and grantee-forward – transitioning from an invitation-only funding stream to a self-nominating process, with details about what to expect within the selection process, average funding, clear criteria, and theories of change. We created custom landing pages to build credibility for early-stage organizations, with innovator-forward content uplifting historically underrepresented leaders. Goals & Objectives: In redesigning our website, we aim to set a new standard for transparency, open-source funding, and grantee-forward content in corporate philanthropy. The redesign is part of our overall DEI strategy to increase funding to a portfolio that reflects the ecosystem's diversity and talent. Results & Impact: Since the website redesign, we have surpassed key DEI targets – 46% percent of portfolio organizations have at least one person of color in the CEO/founder group, a 230% increase over our baseline. Women lead 50%+ of organizations, representing 4% growth over the baseline.
Where do you find inspiration? 💡 Today, we found it among the announcement of the Anthem Award winners. We are honored to be part of this group and receive a silver award from The Anthem Awards for "building a transparent, inclusive website to level the playing field in philanthropy" in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - #CorporateSocialResponsibility category. 💫 #CorporatePhilanthropy Learn more about the award and the other winners of the 2024 #AnthemAwards ⤵️
