Consider the human race's predisposition to cognitive dissonance and denial, resulting in a fantastic ability to ignore uncomfortable truths. Climate change, ecological collapse, and other global crises are overwhelming, and denial becomes a coping mechanism. We want things to stay comfortable and familiar even as the world shifts beneath our feet. We also tend to downplay abstract or distant risks—like AI ethics, nuclear war, or environmental collapse—because they aren’t part of our day-to-day experience. This cognitive dissonance lets us innovate while ignoring that innovation's costs.

AI is being touted as a solution to climate change, but is it all hype or can it truly help us avert environmental disaster? While AI is making progress in areas like green agriculture, waste management, and even nuclear fusion development, it's crucial to remember that technology alone cannot solve the climate crisis.
