🏃♀️ 𝗥𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 🏃♂️ It’s time again to get out your running gear 👟 to join ZwickRoell’s yearly event #ZwickRoellRunsTheWorld 🌍 As usual our #TeamKräftemesser is joining and this year we decided to use this as a chance to initiate a regular team running session during our lunch break. This way, we not only promote team spirit, but also do something for our health at the same time. You’ve never heard from the event before? This is what it’s about: ❓ What? Run, hike or walk for a good cause: ZwickRoell will donate €110,000 💰 to charities selected by participants involved in the cause if the goal is met - every kilometer counts. 👩🦰 Who? Employees, friends, and customers worldwide are all welcome to participate. 📅 When? Last Saturday, our founder Gordon Miller embarked on an incredible journey, participating in the Chase The Sun Cycle, riding coast to coast. Every pedal stroke of this grueling 310-kilometre ride, completed in just 14 hours, was dedicated to raising awareness of modern slavery and supporting Ride For Freedom. What an amazing display of mental and physical strength! Now, we’re inviting YOU to join the #CycleRevolution and make a difference. Whether with friends, collogues, or solo, ride the way you want and help us raise crucial funds to help fight modern slavery. You have a choice in how you participate: Why not set your own challenge? At One Impossible Thing we want to break down barriers that impede people from participating in sport. Redistributing preloved sports shoes to those who struggle to afford them, is our main way of doing this. But we also know that sometimes motivation is a barrier from getting out there and being active. Which is why we're involved in organising the Boxmoor Virtual Marathon! The idea is to run, bike, scoot, walk, swim or wheel your way through the 26 miles/42kms, over a ten week period. In this Olympic year, the virtual marathon starts when the Olympic Flame arrives in France on 8th May. You have until mid July to complete your marathon, so you can have your finishers medal in time for the Olympic Opening Ceremony! It’s a great challenge for families, who can get out together on their bikes or on a walk together. If you do 5kms each week, you’ll have completed your marathon by July, with time to spare! All money raised through sponsorship will ensure we can carry on with all the work we do with schools, homeless charities, refugees groups and school holiday activity camps. Once registered, you can ask families and friends to sponsor you. If you ask 10 people for £10, that’s £100 you’ve raised! Is it really a whole week since I set off to London to get ready for my first London Marathon? "How was it?" I've had a few people ask.. It's hard to put into words, but I'll have a go at a few that come to mind: 👟Epic 👟Euphoric 👟Tough 👟Emotional 👟Rewarding The hardest part was the months of training, the build up, the stress of working out how to get to London when there's train strikes. And then there's the packing - I've never packed so much for a weekend away (energy gels, hydration, snacks to name a few items that took up a fair bit of space). It's true what experienced runners told me - the marathon itself is your lap of honour. I can vouch for this - London felt like one big party and whilst I wished the pain towards the end away, the brilliant memories will last a lifetime. The crowd support was spectacular and uplifting. The rewarding bit comes down to smashing my charity target for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All of the well wishes and donations flooding in as the big day arrived was a great motivator I'm so grateful for every one of them. And so to the next challenge - the Giacom mission to conquer the Keswick 3 Peaks. Can't wait! Just in case you didn't get a moment to sponsor me and would like to, here is my charity link. Today we’re about to embark on a charity fundraising challenge, to row 544,000 metres (344 miles) on rowing machines in our gym at work. It’s a team effort, so I’m confident we’ll achieve the distance within the maximum time of 24 hours that we’ve allowed ourselves to complete it. Not that I’m expecting it to be easy, we’ve not had that many team members volunteer to take part! Such is the attraction of rowing for several hours, especially all through the night! Either way, what I’m most excited about are the multiple benefits of doing such a challenge. 1. We will raise valuable funds for our local hospice (our aim is £10k which we’re well on target to achieve). 2. We will raise the profile of our business through people sharing this challenge with new people. 3. We will increase our social media followers and connections, especially as we aim to attract more people to watch the livestream. 4. We will work together as a team and achieve something meaningful, bringing us closer together. 5. We are bringing our brand values to life by setting a challenging goal, helping other people, finding a way to make it a success, hopefully exceeding our target, and enjoying the journey throughout. When there are so many benefits to such a challenge, it really doesn’t matter how hard it is to achieve, the “why” is big enough so you’re motivated to get it done. Sometimes we’re limited not by what we’re capable of doing, but by the reasons that exist to actually do whatever it is. Make it about other people, or causes you care about, and you’ll be amazed what you are capable of, if it really matters to you. #everydays

🤔 Are you embarking on #RunningForACause ? WELL DONE! Whether it's to raise awareness or to raise funds...think about all the components from WHY to HOW. 🧡 Running for a charity event can be a rewarding experience close to your heart BUT...it does not have to be to your own detriment...at your own physical expense! ⭐ Preparing for it, whatever your running experience is, will not only allow you to keep running -if this is what sparks you... ...but looking after yourself and be your best for those around you...who are not necessarily invested in your cause -while you still care for, and you and them are still alive. 💡Now compare your 'physical run' to your 'business run'. Being in this photo was a tipping point to stretch myself and I decided to be in Enfys Maloney's world. By then, I had experienced the beginning of what's now 'The Success Vault programme' and a VIP event in London- where I felt like jumping to 'Secondary School' just having brushed through 'Primary School'. I read books & articles, I listen to audios and I naturally watch tutorials without even scheduling it -more than I watch Netflix...but my true learning is Kinestetic (by feeling it)! I need to witness (in real life), experiment, play, feel... whatever it is that I am learning, in my own way and at my own pace...and this is WHY I'm in ENFYS' world... I can sprint if I want to (or have to), but I prefer to enjoy the journey building solid steps, physically, in business or through life itself. P.S.
