So excited for Gary Ong and the Celadyne Technologies Team! Celadyne is a hydrogen company that is solving the chicken or egg problem - making hydrogen useful while making hydrogen cheaper. Today, they've announced a $4.5M in seed investment funding co-led by Maniv Dynamo Ventures. Celadyne’s materials technology creates better fuel cells and expands its usage in electrolysis across its growing list of clients across the US. These developments will open up a whole new world for green energy applications in industries that are historically some of the harshest on the environment. The EU Hydrogen Valley Days concluded with over 200 attendees actively participating in sessions shaping the future of European hydrogen valleys. 👇🏼Key learnings from the second day focused on financing opportunities: Matching Needs: While numerous funding opportunities exist, ensuring a good match between buyers and producers and increased flexibility in funding structures are crucial elements. Investor Priorities: Investors expressed a preference for working with demonstrators, large-scale projects, and ventures with clear business viability for their initial investments. ⚗️ Hydrogen was the topic of the day on 13th June, as the UK arm of Eurovent Certification, expanded their knowledge at the Hydrogen Summit: Hydrogen Innovators and the Future. Hosted at the CEME Business Campus in East London, Business Partnership Manager, Ian Butler and Jenni Preston, from the Marketing and Sales Development team, attended the one-day summit, taking place during London Tech Week. 💡 The Hydrogen Innovators and the Future summit was targeted at innovators, investors, research institutions and industries interested in pursuing hydrogen as a viable energy form in the journey towards net zero. The event aimed to explore the potential for hydrogen and the opportunities and challenges being created by innovators working in the sector. The event also shared insights into the hydrogen ecosystem being created within the Thames Estuary region. The Eurovent Certification team learned that: 🔹 Hydrogen has a key role to play in decarbonising industrial and transport applications in the UK. 🔹 However, confidence in hydrogen technologies is low and needs to be built. 🔹 It is vital to develop skills throughout the entire hydrogen supply chain. 🔹 As the demand for hydrogen increases, so too will the need for the cooling equipment vital in both the production and storage of hydrogen. #CEMEH2Summit #Hydrogen #Heating #Cooling #NetZero #Decarbonisation

Hydrogen is happening! Last week the #WorldHydrogen2024 Summit and Exhibition took place in Rotterdam, and this week Zagreb is hosting the #Greencajt Festival. Noé van Hulst, Vice-Chair of the IPHE (International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy), is in town as one of the Festival’s keynote speakers.   We took the opportunity of his visit to Zagreb to organize some insightful and energizing #HydrogenTalks with Noé and a number of distinguished Croatian energy experts and innovators. We discussed the potential of Croatian and Dutch universities, companies and Hydrogen Valleys as platforms where new H2 partnerships can be explored. The Netherlands is home to Europe’s first H2 hub – Hydrogen Valley, and Croatia actively participates in the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley. One of the main take-aways today was the importance of unlocking hydrogen solutions together to accelerate the transition to clean energy. The road to decarbonising our societies may look bumpy, but the many innovative concepts of hydrogen production we discussed show that hydrogen is one of the key elements to reducing our carbon footprint. A well structured and thought out post from Guillaume Lesueur on the challenges and opportunities for financing the hydrogen sector. It's very clear to us at Hypermotive that the customers' of our customers (those buying, managing and operating the fleets of end-user equipment such as trucks, ships, industrial equipment and trains) have a high degree of uncertainty about the switch to hydrogen and clean technologies, and hence we are having to behave as much more than a traditional supplier. We find ourselves in a new role of commercial operation, reaching far outside our direct relationship to our customer to support their, and their customer’s journeys into hydrogen and zero emissions. We are open and honest with guidance – where other technologies that are cheaper, more efficient and simpler work, such as batteries, use those. We only want to work with customers who really need our services, not just because we think we can sell something to them. We also find ourselves having to create networks, collectives and collaborative partnerships across the hydrogen value chain, so we can offer to those same customers the complete package they need to implement such new technologies with minimal risk. It’s fundamentally a new way of doing business. The singular, transactional approach of the past, such as selling an engine to an equipment manufacturer, are gone. We need to be far more holistic in our offer, where there is currently such confusion in the market and a conflicting array of voices all creating uncertainty and doubt in those wishing to change, and those wishing to invest in that change. This comes back to the point above – only those applications where hydrogen is the optimal choice should it be the choice made, which is not necessarily restricted to the equipment itself, but must be considered within the context of the wider system and environment of operations across many facets. It is not an easy decision process, in fact, quite the reverse, it is incredibly complex and nuanced, which is why it is up to us, those deeply embedded in these sectors, to share the knowledge and guide open and honestly towards supporting the best decisions we can make with the information available. All this must also be made with the awareness of all parties that technologies and developing at an ever increasing rate, the optimal solution today may not be the same in 20, 10 or even 5 years' time, but we must also not continually delay for the 'perfect' answer, as the scene will be ever changing too at that point in the future when we thought we'd have an answer. Again, it's all about supporting each other to make the best decisions with the information available, which will reduce risk, protect assets and investments, along with our society and planet around us. #hydrogen #complexity #decision #greeninvestment #investment
