Agricultural Extension plays an indespensable role in defining the effectiveness of Agricultural practices and outcomes to satisfy the stakeholder demands. Unfortunately, Sri Lanka is yet to realize the promise of Agricultural Extension due to the lack of conceptual clarity of the discipline especially by the government sector organizations. The Department of Agricultural Extension of the University of Peradeniya plays a pioneering role in designing and developing the Agricultural Extension professionals to the world. Given below is an Introduction of the Development in a bilingual interview with me. https://lnkd.in/gCjb_pkN

Since its conception phase, the Soil Values program, funded by the Netherlands DGIS, has sought to be inclusive. As a result, the program organized exchange workshops with national development actors supporting the agricultural sector in the countries concerned to adapt interventions to the specific realities of each target country. These national workshops produced four proposals, one for each of the four countries of intervention, which form the foundations of the Soil Values program.
