For the first time ever, the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, thanks to a landmark agreement between Euroleague Basketball, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Etihad Arena, brokered by IMG. It was great to see U.S. #padel pioneers Daddy Yankee and Gabriel Perez Krieb (of the United States Padel Association (USPA), Taktika Padel, and the San Diego Stingrays) on a recent CNBC segment discussing the future of the sport in the U.S. as it relates to #business and #investment. While the segment did little to clear up the ongoing debate about how to actually pronounce "padel" (thoughts Patricio Misitrano? 😂 ) it did point out that padel is starting to give #pickleball some serious competition here in the U.S. And with mega-brands ranging from adidas to Red Bull to Qatar Airways making a major push into the sport globally, there's little doubt that padel will be featured on CNBC far more often in the future.
