Recently, we had held an open discussion about AI + support with Help Scout's frontline support pros. Here’s a key question we got asked: What skills should customer support people focus on when working alongside AI? Here are 2 ways to think about it: 1. Being a subject matter expert is irreplaceable. Know your product inside and out. AI might assist, but it doesn’t possess the nuanced understanding that you do. 2. Trust your instincts. If something feels off in an AI-generated response, it probably is. Use this as an opportunity to lean on your team, ask questions, and utilize the resources at your disposal. Remember, AI is there to help you be better and more efficient at your job, not replace your job.
