The Ovingham Level Crossing Removal Project marries a major infrastructure project with a generous act of public realm design. With the elevation of the train line, the project has created space for enhanced connectivity across Adelaide’s inner north as well as revegetation and water-sensitive urban design measures that support extensive green infrastructure initiatives. Traditional Owner engagement was an integral part of the project with Kaurna culture and expression seamlessly integrated into the public realm to create a meaningful narrative for this significant new space. Key cultural elements are thoughtfully reflected in both integrated design elements and stand-alone sculptures. These features were developed through a collaborative co-design process with Kaurna representatives and cultural collaborators, ensuring an authentic and respectful cultural overlay across the site. At The Pulse of Amsterdam, where everything and everyone comes together, accessibility plays a significant role.   Located just 150 metres away from Amsterdam Zuid station, The Pulse already offers exceptional access to public transport and the A10 highway. But that’s not all – through parking and charging facilities, we are prepared to accommodate approximately 1300 cyclists! Additionally, for those using more than just two wheels, 126 parking spaces will be provided, all equipped with a charging station.   Our goal is to increase the number of shared mobility parking spaces, making it easier for everyone to embrace a more sustainable way of getting around. That is why 45 spaces are assigned to the shared mobility concept. 🏙️This week, we were in Scotland for “The Liveable City” conference - a celebration of architecture, urban planning, and a vision to shape cities that are inclusive, green, and built to enhance quality of life. As cities worldwide continue to grow, thoughtful design is more essential than ever for creating spaces where people can sustainably live, work, and play. Over two days, representatives from the cities of Glasgow, Stirling, and Edinburgh as well as architects, property developers, architects, and urban planners came together to address pressing urban challenges: from creating inclusive public spaces for all and advancing urban mobility through master planning to building healthier buildings and environments. Together they shared insights and inspired each other on innovative approaches and solutions for cities that are people-centred, resilient, and attractive. A few key takeaways from the discussions: 🔷 Bridging sustainability with quality of life is more relevant than ever 🔷 Architecture and mobility solutions are much more than buildings – it minimises barriers and connect citizens, creating happiness amongst the people 🔷 Designing an irresistible circular society where beauty and aesthetics also focus on human needs is very much desired These insights remind us of the transformative power of intentional design and architecture to turn urban challenges into opportunities, fostering social connection, promoting environmental responsibility, and boosting economic vitality. It is only less than a month away before August arrives and your social media will be flooded with photographs and videos from the Burning Man event soon, showing the endless extraordinary art installations around the Black Rock City. I have researched and written an article on Medium about 'Burning Man: Arts, Architecture & Urban Planning' from an architectural designer's point of view. Let's have an open and insightful conversation regarding this topic. Burning Man, an annual event held in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, stands at the intersection of arts, architecture, and urban planning, creating a unique and ephemeral cityscape known as Black Rock City. This temporary metropolis is a testament to human creativity and collaboration, where innovative and experimental architectural structures emerge from the desert sands, reflecting the boundless imagination of its participants. The festival's emphasis on self-expression and community is evident in the large-scale art installations, interactive sculptures, and themed camps that populate the playa, blurring the lines between art and architecture. Michael Anderson, AIA-NOMA walks the walk n talks the talk while also manning a solid architectural practice. The entrepreneurs road is NOT for the faint of heart. What can we collectively or individually do to assist these businesses that are the catalyst for job creation? Pay on time! Cut out the red tape that slows the flow! Stop misinformation from flowing; be transparent about process! Allocate funds based on needs not cookie cutter processes that are antiquated! Hold the bigger pockets feet to the fire as you do entrepreneurs…yeah, I can go on n on cause I’m at the table. I see unnecessary duress because the order takers are not decision makers or influencers so progress is impeded. This month, our Sydney studio hosted an in-depth session on Door Hardware, expertly led by our associate David Bell, covering everything from door assemblies and pathways to fire ratings and security standards. We explored the intricacies of door frames, fire-rated assemblies, and the essential role of smoke seals and perimeter seals in maintaining building safety and integrity. Discussions also highlighted practical considerations like the use of vision panels in fire-rated doors and the importance of choosing hardware that can withstand rigorous usage and meet compliance requirements. As a Project Manger working primarily in World Heritage Sites/Listed Buildings, I'm becoming more aware about the inherent biases when buildings are out up for heritage listing. Looking back at what has gained listed status and what hasn't, there is an inherent classist bias. The UK Government talks of buildings' "importance", "significance" and "virtuosity", their "innovation", "distinction", "merit" and "rarity", and how they might "represent" or "illustrate" when selecting buildings for heritage listing. I agree with Owen when he states that this drives an entirely ideological assessment of a building's value. Look at the recent removal of the Sainsbury wing of the National Gallery in London, a wing that showed prominent postmodernist ideals, to be replaced with boring bland conformity. The way buildings are selected for Heritage Listing and the values they must meet to do so needs to be rethought. As Owen states, "in an ever more politically polarised and divided world, we urgently need more open, inclusive and progressive understandings of heritage. So, instead of the exclusive and restrictive modernist concept of heritage, how about a postmodern one that actively embraces the possibility of multiple value systems?" If this isn't changed soon, we'll be at risk of losing some amazing buildings that were built post 1980, especially those that don't fit in the classist narrative of what a visually beautiful building means.

Finally, from my perspective to build this kind of building we need a solid  foundation. I learned in my research mostly all over New York City was  based on the rock zone area. It gives a strong foundation to build such a  skyscraper firstly we have a very solid foundation. All things considered, the Brooklyn Tower becomes a representation of  modernity, a place where sustainability, efficiency, and creative design come  together. The project's effective integration of prefabrication and modular  construction techniques not only accelerate construction timelines and cost-effectiveness but also establish the project as a model for future urban developments, highlighting the transformative power of innovative  construction techniques. The Brooklyn Tower, a prominent landmark in the  sky is more than just a structure, but is also evidence of the boundless  opportunities that arise when architectural brilliance and inventiveness  converge in the dynamic field of urban building.
