Physical health has worsened since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which can have detrimental effects on employers. That's according to Gallup survey results released on December 14, 2023 showing that workers with poor physical health and well-being generally suffer much higher levels of unplanned absenteeism and healthcare utilization (and associated costs) than their counterparts. What can employers do? A good start would be to focus on benefits programs that address risk factors and help influence how an employee can show up and maintain a healthy lifestyle both in and out of the office. https://lnkd.in/giPwcxnW #PhysicalHealth #EmployerHealth #Wellbeing #Absenteeism #HealthcareUtilization #SocialDeterminantsOfWork

Americans Are Worried About Health Care Expenses 😟 According to a recent KFF survey, 3 out of 4 Americans are worried about their health care costs. This is a major problem, as it can lead to stress, anxiety, and even depression. It can also have a negative impact on our physical health. For example, a study by the American Psychological Association found that people who are worried about their health care costs are more likely to skip doctor's appointments and take fewer medications. This can lead to health problems down the road. The high cost of health care is also having a negative impact on the workplace. A study by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that workers who are worried about their health care costs are more likely to miss work, take longer sick days, and be less productive. This leads to significant financial impact on businesses. ❓ What if you could offer your employees "worry-free" health coverage? ❓ With low or no copays for routine and sick office visits? ❓ Provide help paying for costly prescription drugs? ❓ Give employees more cost-certainty in their health care expenses? You're invited to share your feedback in the comments below. #Healthcare #Stress #Anxiety #Workplace
