Avishek Kumar, CEO and founder of VFlowTech, aims to create a solar-powered world by enabling companies to achieve net zero operations through PowerCubes — a modular vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) energy storage system developed by VFlowTech. These batteries, commonly used for grid energy storage, can supply up to 50 kilowatt-hour (kWh) loads for 24 hours per unit.   Based in JTC CleanTech Three @ Jurong Innovation District, VFlowTech is currently involved in a project to test the VRFBs on Jurong Island. The company was among three recipients of grants from Energy Market Authority (EMA), Enterprise Singapore and JTC to trial new clean energy solutions on the energy and chemicals park. Other innovations being tested and piloted include a floating solar panel system developed by Norwegian company Ocean Sun, and a virtual ledger system to support green hydrogen production by Tuas Power. Estonia’s Elcogen nets over €140 million in funding for clean energy technology expansion Elcogen, a Tallinn-based clean energy technology company, recently raised over €140 million in funding. This includes more than €24 million in equity investments from HydrogenOne Capital LLP, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Mirae Asset Global Investments, as well as grants from the European Commission. Additionally, the company has secured a proposed debt of €15 million. Baker Hughes also participated as a strategic investor. Elcogen’s technology enables the production of green hydrogen and electricity efficiently and affordably, supporting the global shift towards cleaner energy sources. Crosstown H2R, a Swiss climate tech startup, has secured over €2 million in subsidies and grants from the Swiss Federal Office of Energy SFOE and other investors, emerging from stealth mode. Partnerships with industry giants Sulzer and Fortum have been announced to develop its proprietary technology, Crosstown Burner (H2R), enabling gas power plants to transition to zero-carbon energy production.
