Our Essakane #Mine in Burkina Faso is proud to be contributing to the construction of a new façade for the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM), a higher education institution in Ouagadougou that focuses primarily on the training of public servants. Construction commenced earlier this summer with the celebratory laying of the first stone for the foundation, with government officials and representatives from both ENAM and IAMGOLD in attendance. Once completed, this infrastructure project will include a main gatehouse, two secondary gatehouses, a fence wall, a stele and an esplanade. This project represents a key initiative in an ongoing #partnership between ENAM and IAMGOLD that seeks to enhance the #educational experience for students. ''In March this year, Nineveh Governor Abdul Kader Al-Dakhil signed a contract with Italian engineering company SGI to initiate a long-stalled project on the expansion of provincial capital Mosul. The proposed project would expand the northern Iraqi city by 7 km (4.5 miles) in all directions, and includes the development of 160,000 dunums (1,600 hectares) of land earmarked for investment in industrial, agriculture, housing, and tourism projects. With a population of approximately 4M, Nineveh Governorate is one of the most religiously and ethnically diverse regions of Iraq. A majority of its Arab, Turkmen, and Kurdish residents are Sunni Muslims, with most of them residing in Mosul. The city and the governorate’s districts are also home to significant populations of Syriac Christians, a majority of Iraq’s Shabak communities, and Yazidis. Supporters of the expansion project have claimed that its real estate initiatives, such as the Al-Ghazlani project, will help alleviate soaring housing prices and provide jobs in the provincial capital. Alongside its promised 28,000 housing units, the project is touted to include a university, hospital, and schools. However, the details of the broader expansion project have provoked discontent among religious and ethnic minority communities in the governorate.'' Did you know? There are 124 countries in the world, each with a total area less than 90,000 km². On the other hand, we have NA-260 (Chagai, Washuk, Kharan & Nushki) in Balochistan – a single constituency with a total area of 98,596 km². NA-260 is nearly as large as the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. As per the recent delimitation, only one MNA represents this entire constituency. How is it possible for one MNA to effectively focus on such a vast area? In Pakistan, resources are mostly distributed on constituency basis. How can we develop such a vast area with the development funds of one MNA? Time for a rethink! #RepresentationChallenge"

NIGER-NIGERIA RAILWAY PROJECT Nigerian President Bola Tinubu announced on Wednesday 14 March that he had allocated $1.3 billion, equivalent to 15% of the railway project to Niger, after ordering the opening of the Niger border. This project, which stopped in 2023 due to financing, was finalised by starting negotiations again in January 2024. The remaining 85% was undertaken by China Railway Construction Corporation. The financing of this organisation will of course be provided by China Eximbank. ■ Comment: This project is transnational and will be operated by the Chinese construction company and its partners for a certain period of time. Although there are uncertainties about this tender, some towns will be renovated by investing in agriculture around the railway and in nearby areas. This railway project involving two nations is extremely important as it will turn into a national value after a certain period of time. This project will be Niger's import and export project to the sea. In Nigeria, it will extend to the harbours by connecting 12 cities. #Sarenolia #Colonialism #ConstructionPolicies #GlobalConstructionPolicies #AfricanUnion #AfricanCommunity #Trade #Import #Export #Politics #Infrastructure #InfrastructureProjects #Diplomacy #Research #Sociology #Antropology #China #PoliticalRelationship #Capital #Investment #ForeignInvestment #Energy #Agriculture #RenewableEnergy #Telecommunications #Construction #Railway #Niger #Nigeria

Ghana is a vibrant country located in West Africa, renowned for its rich history, cultural diversity, and significant role in global affairs. Here's a detailed overview of various aspects of Ghana: Geography Ghana is bordered by Côte d'Ivoire to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, Togo to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south. It features a varied landscape that ranges from coastal savannahs to tropical rain forests. The country is known for its gold resources and other valuable minerals, as well as a beautiful coastline that includes palm-lined beaches and bustling harbors. History Ghana's history is particularly notable for being the first sub-Saharan African country to gain independence from colonial rule in 1957. The region was historically important for its role in the gold and slave trades, particularly under the Ashanti Empire, which was one of the most advanced states in sub-Sahara Africa prior to European contact. Post-independence, Ghana was led by Kwame Nkrumah, a prominent advocate for Pan-Africanism. The country experienced periods of military rule before transitioning to a stable democracy in the early 1990s. Politics Ghana is a democratic republic with a strong emphasis on freedom of speech and press, making it one of the more stable political systems in Africa. Its political structure includes a president as the head of state and government, elected for a four-year term. The current president, Nana Akufo-Addo, has been in office since January 2017. Ghana's democracy is bolstered by its active civil society and relatively free media landscape.
