What? Charge less for the same exceptional care?! Yes, indeed. Because it's the right thing to do. Intermountain Health has moved all Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology clinics in Utah away from a hospital designation to a clinic designation. This allows us to: -Lower costs for patients -Compliantly provide virtual care -SERVE OUR COMMUNITY! Really this is a no-brainer and I challenge all hospital-based practices to make the same move. Sounds simple? It. Was. Not. Simple. This involved significant clinical, legal, compliance, finance, IT, HR, operational, contracting, credentialing, enrollment, analytics, marketing, revenue cycle, and strategic considerations. That's ok. Let's do hard things to make healthcare more affordable! I am so proud of the team that made this happen! Step Two: Once billing knows a patient is eligible, the doctor’s order and consent form is obtained.
