In my latest for Sightlines, I examine how EIGHT Brewing Co.'s methodical, even hyperlocal approach is different from what we might expect from a celeb-backed brand. EIGHT co-founder Ruchi Desai says that in the brand's third year on shelves, honing in on small wins has been key to growth. After starting in Texas, where co-founder Troy Aikman rose to fame as quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, EIGHT has taken a granular approach and waited two years to open its second state, Oklahoma, in February. So far in 2024, the brand is up +51% following the Oklahoma launch while maintaining flat growth in Texas. Learn more about how granular, local data helped EIGHT make the statewide pitch to the biggest retailer of them all, Walmart: https://lnkd.in/girna5qm

Mort Fleischer, a former Board Chairman of STORE Capital, was the first to introduce capital, by way of sale-leaseback transactions, to the rapidly growing but fragmented chain restaurant industry in 1981 and has been a leading light for the company. Recently, Mort shared his professional insights with our Acquisition Team Members during an on-site sales training. Applying emotional intelligence, acting with integrity and being a “Master Communicator” were just a few takeaways from the training. Learn more about STORE Capital’s History: https://bit.ly/3AxynJz

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐌𝐜𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 🍔 Raymond Albert Kroc was born on 5 October, 1902. At 13 he opened his first business, a lemonade stand. This was followed by a music store he opened with two friends. He forged his ID to go to war when he was just 15. This seems to have been the thing to do at that time, as Walt Disney did the same. In fact, that’s how the two met. Shortly after completing his training, the war ended. This was followed by a period of odd jobs and piano playing, before finally settling in at Lily Tulip Cup Co, selling paper cups. A decade later, he started selling milkshake multimixers, which is how he found about this restaurant called McDonald’s. The rest, as we all know, is history. One Lesson from Ray Kroc. It’s never too late. At 59, he bought McDonalds for $2.7 million. His success has become a legendary example in the business world, showcasing that it's possible to achieve groundbreaking success at any stage in life. His story is a powerful reminder that with determination, vision, and hard work, it's never too late to pursue your dreams or change the course of your career. Today, there are over 40,000 McDonald’s restaurants worldwide, generating $25 billion a year. Never give up. . #marketing #burgerking #mcdonalds #mcdonald #business #casestudy

You're more similar to your competitors than you think. "You don't need to be a winner in Formula One." Indeed, this is not a sentiment held by most teams, but the thinking behind Chipotle Mexican Grill 's CMO, Chris Brandt. There are many ways the teams in the paddock try to differentiate themselves. ↳ Content ↳ Reputation ↳ Sponsorships With the Chipotle sponsorship, that's what Haas has aimed to do. Usually, you need help to distinguish yourself from your competitors. Chipotle is capitalizing on its partnership with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team partly because of Gunther Steiner's rise in stardom (although this season is going to be interesting) And their potential reach increased in the US and visibility in the Middle East. Instead of sponsors heading to teams like Red Bull, where they might have been priced out. They can run creative activations and campaigns that go against the grain. It's the perfect way for Haas and Chiptole to separate themselves from their competition. #sports #sportsbiz #linkedinsports #formula1

And the list goes on… Inspirational, indeed! For these dreamers and go-getters, every year is another chapter, another chance: → To set lofty goals. → To pursue new dreams. → To redefine success. Next up in our Big Dwayne Energy employee spotlight series, where we showcase our incredible team is... Olcomendy, George - VP, National Accounts ⚡️ 1. How are you bringing Big Dwayne Energy to ZOA? First, I truly believe that this brand is one of the best tasting energy drinks on the market. I am committed to making sure this brand is growing and is available across the country in all our leading retailers. If this product is not available, how can they experience the brand. I wake up every day energized to find ways for our retail partners to bring on ZOA Energy. BDE is a mindset that I carry across the organization to inspire others. 2. What is your favorite thing about working at ZOA? Definitely the people and the culture that has been developed here over the last 3 years. I come to work energized by the folks that surround me every day. By far, this has been the most fun and rewarding job I have had. Make no mistake, it's never easy but coming to work everyday here has been a moment in time that I will never forget. 3. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? It would have to be pasta. Any type. I cannot imagine not having an option in a meal selection that does not have pasta. I absolutely loved my mom’s homemade pasta sauce. 4. What is your favorite ZOA flavor and why? Frosted Grape. Can’t really figure out why, as grape has never really been a favorite flavor of mine but I LOVE ZOA Frosted Grape. 5. What is your biggest Big Dwayne Energy moment? Two moments stick out for me. First would be our XFL tie in with HEB. We had the opportunity for our founders meet and greet at HEB in-store and then experienced the XFL championship game with all in San Antonio. Second would be a most recent win, bringing Albertsons Companies on board nationally. It has been a work in the making for a long time and just being able to tell our entire team of the win, brought out a Big Dwayne Energy moment that I will not forget. #ZOAEnergy #BigDwayneEnergy #EmployeeSpotlight #SalesTeam

748 DAYS.... Let me share with you my rollercoaster tale of persistence and trust-building. Strap in, because I've got a story that will leave you inspired and motivated to never give up. On January 19, 2022, we delivered a pitch presentation for a Taco Bell portfolio to a new client we were in the early innings of building a relationship with. It was well-received, but the opportunity never materialized because the tenant exercised its ROFR and acquired the properties. Little did I know that this would be the start of an extraordinary journey, filled with ups and downs, challenges, and countless hours of dedication. From the very beginning, I made it a point to stay in touch with my client regularly. Whether it was a quick check-in call or sharing valuable insights about the market, I ensured that I remained top-of-mind throughout the process. I sent them comps. I sent them recent successes of our team closing Taco Bells around the country. I sent them Taco Bell to their offices for lunch. I sent them pictures of me eating Taco Bell – Please get a laugh from the picture below. I flew down to Texas to have dinner with them to discuss their needs and dreams. It wasn’t and isn’t just about business for me. I genuinely like to invest time to truly understand my clients’ vision, and together, we navigate the complexities of the market. Then we finally got our shot – We were engaged to sell these two Taco Bells at the end of last year. Built the best team on the field with Jason DeWitt, Jeffrey Cicurel, Alex Geanakos, and Will Bowater. They are unstoppable and produced superb outcomes! So, what's the key takeaway from my 748-day odyssey? It's this: success in real estate, or any industry for that matter, is built on trust, perseverance, and genuine human connection. It's about staying in touch, listening, empathizing, and going the extra mile to understand your client's needs. It's about forging relationships that withstand the test of time. Today, as we celebrate the culmination of this long and arduous journey, we want to thank our client for placing their trust in us and joining us on this incredible ride. Thank you and to many more! #trustbuilding #perseverancepaysoff #nevergiveup #buildingconnections #nnn #saleleaseback
