Spent the last two days with Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) , their cooperative member owners, vendor partners, and friends of coops from out of state such as Sean Vanslyke from SEMO (be sure to check out the book list he used during the opening remarks for the ODEC Cooperative Exchange Conference) and Scott H. From Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. who presented alongside the famous Brian Sloboda, who I am so lucky to be attempting to fill his shoes. Attempting… key word. Thank you so much to the always gracious Erin Puryear for inviting me to participate in this phenomenal member engagement opportunity. A great way to kick off #CooperativeMonth

Proud Arkansas moment - that’s where my co-op roots were born, and also my love of music. “Cash embodied the American spirit in a way that few could. It is hard to believe it is Thursday when your are still all amped up after Monday’s Electrify Indiana event. A heartfelt thank you to the teams at Hoosier Energy, Wabash Valley Power Alliance, and Indiana Electric Cooperatives for inviting me to participate in the #ElectrifyIndiana! This was an event and a place for the state of Indiana to come together and share innovative ideas and collaborative energy from a diverse group of stakeholders made up of over 300 attendees. I was also honored to share the story of the rural electrification movement of the early 20th century, and the role the REA played in transforming rural America when the country was a country of contrasts. Its rich history offers valuable lessons and striking parallels to today’s modern electrification efforts, as we tackle modern challenges and unlock new opportunities for our communities. Speaking of communities…. It was my pleasure to talk with CoServ’s, Stephen Meers and FlexCharging’s Brian Grunkemeyer for a “fireside chat” - we discussed local data for local decision making around rural EV programming. A great discission around how cooperatives are meeting the unique needs of their own communities, improving the quality of life.
