Hydrogen, hydrogen and again hydrogen ⚠️ There are much expectation about #hydrogen especially that based on #renewables… but reality check returns a quite different picture The finding of IEA report - looking project by project is quite telling: of all announced projects to use renewables to produce hydrogen this decade, only 7% of planned capacity is forecast to come online by 2030 The bleak outlook represents a significant worsening toward previous expectations for hydrogen but proper demand policies can change this .. demand policies ? This an issue for governments to address as all the renewable, grid-attached variable hydrogen generation and batteries as well as fusion energy all need to increase still in scale as well as balance once the level reached and business needs the surety that the price of the devices is kept within financially sensible ranges so what is your real solution.?

Interesting to see that there are quite some hurdles to realize these projects but these hurdles do not stop projects from being announced.

Is Hydrogen a viable solution for decarbonisation and climate change?

Our current project deals with the production of Hydrocarbons out of Water, Air and electricity and H2 Electrolysis is part and parcel of the Process stream combined with CO2 Electrolysis.

The expansion of hydrogen pipelines is a significant development in the energy transition. Hydrogen, particularly the clean versions produced using renewable energy, has the potential to decarbonize sectors that are difficult to make greener. The establishment of extensive pipeline networks, such as the European Hydrogen Backbone, will enable the transportation of hydrogen from producers to consumers, supporting the growth of the hydrogen economy. Countries like Denmark, China, and Oman are leading the way in pipeline planning and development. However, more infrastructure is needed globally to facilitate the widespread use of hydrogen as a clean energy source. #energytransition #hydrogen #pipelineinfrastructure

A ground breaking study reveals a promising path for hydrogen to revolutionise the way we power our SA homes and industries. 🏠⚡ The Australian Hydrogen Centre's research highlights the potential and feasibility of incorporating hydrogen into the state's distribution networks, paving the way to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. 🌱 The results are nothing short of remarkable: ✅ Transitioning to 100% hydrogen in our gas network is not only feasible but a game-changer. ✅ Optimise underutilised renewable infrastructure offering 3230 MW of electrolyser capacity and 6 petajoules of long-term hydrogen storage by 2050. ✅ Hydrogen production could soar from 550 terajoules per year in 2030 to a whopping 34.95 petajoules per year in 2050 – That’s an incredible 6400% increase! ✅ Potential generation of 2204 SA jobs during construction, with 875 ongoing jobs. Hydrogen had a breakout year. Why are some VCs still skeptical? - from @PitchBook Despite its promising potential, some venture capitalists (VCs) remain skeptical about its long-term viability. While hydrogen offers a clean and abundant source of energy, there are still challenges to overcome, such as high production costs and limited infrastructure - elements that delay a time to market significantly. VCs may also be hesitant due to the competition from other renewable energy sources like wind and solar power. Are VCs taking less risks these days or is it more profound on the model itself ? Who knows it at this stage?
