The hydrogen market is expected to benefit significantly from the increased use of low-emission fuels. #Hydrogen must be produced using energy. The energy input and energy composition of the synthetic gas should ideally correspond. Energy transition occurs throughout the hydrogen production process, including #electrolysis and reforming. Electrical energy, as well as #hydrocarbon #chemicalenergy, are converted into hydrogen. Unfortunately, energy is always lost during the hydrogen manufacturing process. Key players in this market include Linde plc (Ireland), Air products and Chemicals, Inc. The electrolysis segment is expected to be the fastest-growing market during the forecast period. The growing investment in the production of green hydrogen is one of the key factors driving the electrolysis segment. Governments and international organizations are implementing regulations and targets to reduce carbon emissions. Other than hydrogen and oxygen, electrolysis does not emit or produce any by-products. Cost reduction and increased energy efficiency in hydrogen generation are achieved through electrolysis and heat recovery. thyssenkrupp nucera Linde Engineering Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. Today, for @HyXchange speaking in Antwerp, #Belgium at the @Globuc GO HYDROGREN conference. About our report on the world’s first spot #market #simulation on a #hydrogen backbone system, published last week. See https://lnkd.in/e248Mxmr and our website https://lnkd.in/eh4UbN-u. Many more events and presentations to come! Also about the year 2023 report of our #HyCLICX #indicator: see our website https://lnkd.in/e6wvG2BY and @Energeia, https://lnkd.in/ehUN-6bU. Moving forward with clear results from our HyXchange #development program: market as an essential element to reach #affordable hydrogen – with #multiple sources. Lesson from our simulation: market #diversity brings #stability!
Today, HyXchange publishes its key findings from the Hydrogen Spot Market #Simulation Project – a global first. The world’s first spot market simulation on a hydrogen backbone system, was aimed at providing insights in dynamics and volatility, and conducted with the much-appreciated input of many involved market parties and infrastructure operators during working sessions. See end report publicly available on the HyXchange platform: https://lnkd.in/eh4UbN-u HyXchange simulated the hydrogen spot #trade over the Dutch hydrogen infrastructure as planned, with national hydrogen production from renewable sources, imported hydrogen carriers and connections to other countries. For 2030 a variety of #scenarios were simulated, with low and high price of green hydrogen carrier imports (ammonia), and diverse availability of ammonia cracking-to-hydrogen capacity. Findings: · Large hourly unit variations in volumes especially for #electrolyzers, driven by weather. · This is balanced by multiple other Hydrogen sources: import ammonia cracking, gas reformers&CCS, and hydrogen #storage, the mix depending on external circumstances. · These other sources are needed for a secure 24/7 hydrogen supply: mainly continuous to the industry. · Green #import #ammonia is also needed, next to green electricity-fed electrolyzers, to achieve the renewable hydrogen targets. · Price #volatility turns out lower than unit volume volatility, as import ammonia terminal cracking and reformers&CCS tend to provide price stability. These findings provide information for blueprinting the trading system for the hydrogen @exchange. In addition, several topics were selected for further research and projects. Bottom line: the #hydrogen market could be an interesting mix of characteristics from the electricty market and the gas market!

New entrant Cleanova has recently secured a contract to supply filtration systems for a multi-billion-dollar blue hydrogen facility in Louisiana, set to commence in 2026. The facility will produce over 750 million standard cubic feet per day of blue hydrogen and blue ammonia, capturing and sequestering 95% of its carbon dioxide emissions (and over 5 million tons annually) in Louisiana, making it the world’s largest carbon capture and sequestration project in development.
