GeoPura made history by fuelling the world’s first hydrogen-powered Touch World Cup 2024! Our Hydrogen Power Units (HPUs) replaced traditional generators, delivering clean energy with zero emissions and only water as a by-product. Reducing the carbon dioxide emissions of the event by a massive 6.6 tonnes. This ground breaking effort by England Touch and Federation of International Touch demonstrates the potential of green hydrogen to revolutionise not only major events but also the future of sustainable energy. 🌿 Exciting News! 🌿 As part of Sustainability Week 2024, we teamed up with ESB and GeoPura to unveil the first Hydrogen Fuel Cell on the West Coast at our Shannon Airport Business Park. It was incredible to see over 100 professionals from various industries in Ireland register to participate in an expert-led demonstration of the hydrogen fuel cell electricity generation unit. The event provided valuable insights into the potential of using hydrogen for zero-carbon electricity in Ireland. A big thank you to our amazing staff for putting together such an inspiring event and to all who joined us in this important initiative. We’re excited to announce that GeoPura has closed a landmark £22 million debt funding round! This is the first major asset-backed debt funding announced by a green hydrogen company in the UK and a huge step forward for our mission to deliver zero-emission power on a global scale. Key Highlights: ▪ £22 million raised to support the expansion of our Hydrogen Power Units (HPUs) and renewable infrastructure ▪ Backed by leading financial institutions: BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, Close Brothers Asset Finance, HSBC, and Siemens Financial Services This funding accelerates our plan to deploy 3,600+ HPUs by 2033, helping displace millions of tonnes of CO₂ emissions. Today marks an important step on our sustainability journey as we announce a pioneering green hydrogen pilot project with ESB that will see our data centre power control and administration building in Dublin be powered by zero emissions green hydrogen power. The landmark pilot project is the first time that Hydrogen Fuel Cells will be used to provide electricity to a Microsoft data centre in Europe, supplying up to 250kW of clean energy to Microsoft’s Dublin campus over an eight-week period. The groundbreaking pilot is part of a series planned by ESB in 2024 and 2025 to showcase the versatility of hydrogen fuel cell technology in different power applications. The pilot is the first step in demonstrating the potential impact that hydrogen energy can have in helping to decarbonise the strategically important data centre sector in Ireland. Our team had a fantastic time at IMG Studios yesterday, demonstrating our HPUs to teams from across the business at its sustainability day. We showcased the hydrogen-powered generator in action, charging EVs and generating electricity with zero emissions. The only output was water, which the teams had a chance to sample.   We're proud to have worked alongside IMG and Film and TV Services to power the live broadcast of key sporting events including the #BMWPGAChampionship, AIG Women's Open, and most recently the Amgen Irish Open, where our HPUs helped power broadcasts with zero emissions.   Together, we're driving a sustainable future for sports, delivering clean energy solutions that eliminate carbon emissions and improve air quality for all. We're looking forward to continuing this journey to make sports broadcasting more sustainable, one event at a time.
