"Army Family Symposia conducted in 1980, 1981, and 1982 (U.S. Department of the Army, 1988) revealed that families feel stressed and need employment assistance, volunteer recognition for supporting professional development, better health care, improved childcare facilities, and centralization of activities that support family programs." 42 years later, the top concerns of Army spouses are Health Care, Family Housing, PCS Moves, Child Care, and Employment. There are many resources to support military spouses, and many spouses take advantage of the resources, however, research revealed that spouses are unaware of all the existing resources. How can we better meet the needs of today's Army spouses and retain the Army Family?

Our new paper explores four themes gathered from children from military families, and their parents and educators. These are family transitions (parents moving in and out of the household due to deployment and training), mobility (due to frequent relocations), and risk and protective factors. We also explore how we used their narratives and other lived and living experience narratives to co-create free online research-based resources.
