Last month we signed on as a Major Partner of the Blue Earth Forum, taking place during London's Climate Action Week. Designed to connect innovators of the latest climate technological solutions with investors who want to have a positive impact on the world around them, the Forum was an incredible event. In amongst panels, pitches, and keynote speeches, we managed to learn a lot. Here are our top five take-aways: 1. No action or idea is too big or too small - everyone starts somewhere. 2. The community of people working towards solutions for the climate crisis is vast - learning from each other is the key to progress. 3. Positive change is happening - you may not always see it, but it's real. 4. Celebrate the small wins - they add up to something huge. 5. There is still so much more work to be done. There are so many more we could add to the list, too. What a brilliant way to drive progress forward. #blueearthforum #bcorporation #londonclimateactionweek #financialplanning #londonwealthmanagement

Apply: https://lnkd.in/dxRvMueR #ikokazike The Focus for 2024: Visions of a Climate Just Future The Doc Society Climate Story Fund is seeking to support compelling storytelling and impact strategies from around that world that can help audiences envision the just transition, and activate them to make these visions a reality. We will prioritize applicants that creatively explore how communities today are experimenting with new pathways for a more safe and just future for all; how responsive governments and civil society are counteracting the efforts of a fossil fuel industry determined to slow down the radical transformation of our livelihoods; and how leaders are steadfastly navigating complexity as they remain committed to repairing past harms. We are eager for stories that showcase how climate action can lead to abundance. How systems are being redesigned to be more inclusive, creating more opportunities without leaving anyone behind. Not stories that are overloaded in technical language and facts. Rather stories that deeply resonate with a universal love for place, love for community, and love for future generations.

🏢 From Climate Week to Site Visit Week 🌲 It’s crazy how being a project developer allows (and maybe even demands) you to bridge two almost opposite worlds. I love being a key part of project origination and enabling real impact through financing from conscious, committed clients. Just days ago, we were representing Carbonof at Climate Week in NYC, and now we’re on the ground in Chihuahua, visiting the projects of our strategic partners and our own to keep amplifying that impact. After the intensity of Climate Week, spending time on the road and in nature has been the perfect way to reflect on everything I heard and experienced in NYC. There were strong calls for urgent investment in nature, ambitious goals, and collaboration across all sectors and actors in the value chain—and there are already great examples of what can happen when we get it right. However, I also sensed a lot of uncertainty around carbon markets, especially when it comes to origination and all the tags and labels a project should comply with. While there may be occasional cases that don’t meet the integrity we all strive for, I truly believe that the good outweighs the bad. Seeing the real impact investments in NbS projects generate—both in our projects and those of our allies—reaffirms that we’re on the right track. Let’s move beyond the uncertainty, connect with the projects on the ground, and continue supporting initiatives with real, measurable impact. Remember, we have no time to lose! PS. Not wearing the same shirt, but I do love that color!

Your eyes glaze over. You’ve zoned out. The net zero carbon jargon has got you again. Sound familiar? New research shows that most people in the UK struggle to understand the language used around climate. Whilst there's a time and a place for technical terms, if we want to get everyone talking about climate, it's time to cut the jargon, get creative with our comms and say what we mean. Join Hubbub CEO Alex Robinson, Sam Sutaria, David Hayman and Rosie Gordon Lennox for the next event in our breakfast series where we'll explore how to: ✍️ Use simple, straightforward language that people can understand 🤝 Meet people where they are at ✨ Grab people’s attention through creativity and playfulness Sign up here: bit.ly/now-youre-talking
