Excited to share that I've completed the Advanced Concepts of Climate Change and Carbon Markets course offered by Atingi.org. This course covered various aspects of the voluntary carbon market, covering everything from the components of carbon markets to calculating emissions reduction, understanding the carbon project life cycle, exploring carbon markets worldwide, and assessing the state of carbon credits and credit pricing. This course provided valuable insights that have enriched my understanding of voluntary carbon markets

How has the unique structure of our Dutch Fund for Climate and Development fared in creating unique and investible climate adaptation and climate resilience projects? https://lnkd.in/dWFkeXrz The Dutch government commissions an evaluation of the public programs managed by FMO every five years, with the aim to obtain lessons to better steer the fund, as collaboration initiatives like the DFCD will be needed increasingly going forward. The DFCD aims to promote climate-resilient economic growth, which we manage through our unique consortium approach together with our partners Climate Fund Managers (CFM), Wereld Natuur Fonds (WWF-NL) and SNV. In this evaluation, carried out by SEO Amsterdam Economics, we’re pleased to see the DFCD is seen as a unique and highly relevant model for climate adaptation and mitigation, and will take the recommendations onboard to improve the offerings together with our partners. I think more action is needed around educating and sensitizing citizens and communities to aid in their understanding of the importance of biodiversity conservation and protection.

But fortifying communities against environmental devastation requires more than science — it demands diversity of thought and the collective resolve of leaders and subject matter experts across the full spectrum of public and private sectors. Nature-based Solutions help to address challenges faced by society such as climate change, biodiversity loss, disaster risks (coastal/soil erosion), food security, water pollution through natural resources (forests, wetlands, grasslands, organic farming/agroforestry etc) for sustainable management, protection, and restoration of the ecosystems, bringing benefits to people (human health and well-being) and planetary health to achieve sustainable development.
