“The delay in projects because of the queue…has caused some projects to be turned upside down,” said George Bilicic, Head of Lazard’s Power, Energy & Infrastructure effort, during his appearance on Veriten’s C.O.B. Tuesday podcast. Discussing the interconnection queues for clean energy generation, as well as the need for permitting reform, George drew insights from Lazard’s 2024 Levelized Cost of Energy+ Report. He emphasized the urgent need for queue and permitting reform to address the growing backlog of clean energy and natural gas projects, creating challenges for EPCs, developers, equipment suppliers, and end users.
