#TheZudioCoincidence: You know it when someone is wearing clothes from Zudio. Once, I noticed the #Zudio t-shirt I was wearing, and to my surprise, I spotted 4-5 people wearing the same style in that mall. At some point, it got a bit embarrassing for me too. Even fast fashion lovers get a taste of it! Curious, I asked a few of my nephews, who are avid Zudio shoppers, how they deal with it. Their response? "Before, I used to buy from Zudio, but recently I've started choosing items with most sizes and colors available. That way, I know it's not too common." Haha! It might be a funny observation, but it's not a bad one. Zudio has made fast fashion incredibly accessible. Many Zara dupes are available at Zudio for a minimal cost, although sometimes at the expense of garment quality. Spotting others in Zudio clothes is remarkably easy. Has this happened to you too? In the most significant build on their award-winning SizeMe platform to date, uniform fit technology specialists, Bodi.Me last week announced the launch of their latest innovation, Size-Me 4.0. The first try-on offer, with 3D avatar, specifically created for the uniform and professional clothing industry. Recently Amazon announced the launch of its try-on tech and many high street fashion stores already offer something similar. Try-on tech and avatars are a hot topic right now, but why create a system specifically for uniform fit? “Fitting a uniform and fitting a fashion item are two very different things,” said Lara Mazzoni, CEO and cofounder of Bodi.Me. “For most people, comfort is king when it comes to the uniform, so how it fits is their number one priority. Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Zudio, and I was truly impressed by their trendy clothing designs offered at a very affordable price point. With the increasing penetration of the internet and more people spending time on Instagram, the desire to follow fast fashion trends has surged, particularly within the middle-income level segment. It's worth noting that brands like H&M and Zara often don't cater to the needs of 99 percent of the population. Zudio, on the other hand, has successfully struck a balance between price, quality, and accessibility. Their approach to accessibility is truly fantastic, achieved by strategically opening stores in tier 2 and 3 cities. One particularly noteworthy aspect of Zudio's strategy is their method of introducing new designs. They initially test these designs in a select few stores, and if the demand proves substantial, they expand the availability of those designs to all their stores. This approach demonstrates an effective way to manage inventory and respond to customer preferences. Our first ever virtual try-on experience for apparel has landed on MR PORTER. The size simulator is an exciting new way for customers to interact with private label, Mr P. Through the easy-to-use tool, customers can create a 3D avatar that mirrors their own dimensions. By providing their measurements or go-to clothing sizes from their favourite brands, they can instantly visualise how a garment will look on their body to determine the best size and fit for them. Not only will virtual try-on give customers assurance and confidence in their purchasing decisions, it will also allow us to test its impact on reducing the rate of returns. Virtual try-on is currently piloting across 90 evergreen styles and wardrobe essentials from Mr P.’s Permanent range, allowing us to explore its initial potential for an extensive six-month trial.
