Community fridges: 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 & 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲. 💞 OK, I have to admit this was a surprise... But, I suppose, falling in love is just one of the wonderful things that can happen when you bring people together. Quick PSA: • There are over 650 community fridges around the UK • They share food & prevent it going to waste • They're open to everyone Last year the Community Fridge Network: • Redistributed over 18 million meals' worth of food. • Welcomed over 600,000 visitors • Brought at least one couple together 😘 Want to support more food sharing, community and romance? Rescuing Leftover Cuisine’s mission is to provide a reliable food rescue service by fostering community connections to reduce food waste and food insecurity. ➡️ 40% of food produced in this country is wasted — while 42 million Americans remain food insecure. RLC volunteers rescue food along the way home from work or to class and help feed millions of hungry Americans while offsetting carbon emissions. “It's the first time in my life that I’ve found an organization that does the kind of work that aligns with something that I’ve been through," says Nathan, a volunteer from New York. "I experienced food insecurity, food pantries, and welfare in my early 20s. It brings together people that wouldn’t otherwise come together with different backgrounds to transport excess food.
