Britons will soon have the option to enjoy a "pint" of wine as a new 568ml bottle hits the shelves in supermarkets, pubs, clubs, and restaurants. 🍷 Did you know that pint bottles of champagne were once sold in the UK before 1973? However, EU weight and measure rules led to their discontinuation. Now, post-Brexit, approximately 900 UK vineyards stand to benefit from new freedoms, allowing the sale of still and sparkling wine in various quantities, including the 568ml "pint" size. This change is a significant development, offering more options for consumers and supporting local vineyards. What are your thoughts on this news? 🤔 Do you welcome the idea of enjoying a pint of wine, and how do you think it might impact your wine-buying choices?🍇🥂 #WineIndustry #WineNews #UKWine #PintOfWine

Brand & Trademark Licensing Expert | IA Director, Brand Extension at Stobbs | UK Advisory Board, Licensing International | #brandextension #brandlicensing #trademarklicensing
Dolly (Parton) wines are coming to Asda in September, following their launch in the US earlier in the year. The licensee is Accolade Wines whose portfolio also includes Hardy's, Jam Shed and Mud House. This license allows Dolly's fans, and the generally curious, to access something of the Dolly brand outside her home market and in a different environment. Some celebrity-branded drinks offerings have proven to be quite successful over the last few years, but let's be honest, they won't be for everyone. Something of a sceptic myself, I sampled Kylie's Alcohol Free Sparkling Rosé at a BBQ recently, and it was surprisingly delicious, so after reading the Dolly news it got me doing a little digging. According to the Drapers, Kylie's Signature Rosé is the number one bestselling ‘premium’ rosé in the UK [NIQ 52 we 31 December 2023]. Benchmark Drinks who produce Kylie's wines, also offer the following brands: 🍷 Gary Barlow Wines 🍷 Gordon Ramsey Wines 🍷 Sir Ian Botham Wines 🍷 Graham Norton's Own I've heard Graham Norton's wines are pretty good, but wasn't aware of the others. So what's the verdict on celebrity-branded wines? Hit or Miss? Stobbs #brandlicensing #intellectualproperty #brandstrategy Share if you liked this. Follow me for more.

Bulk Wine Market | Vinos a Granel - Due to historically low harvests, rosé wine is almost sold out in the Spanish bulk wine market, and white wines are also more than scarce. While Iberian red wine prices are slowly decreasing due to global sales issues, white wine prices remain stable, and in some cases, are even rising #wine #wines #bulkwine #bulkwines #whitewine #vinoblanco #vinosblancos

Here is some fascinating data. Contrary to popular assumptions, wine lists in the US are not getting smaller! We surveyed over 40,000 restaurants in the upper-casual space to see how wine list sizes have trended over the last three years. This report is another classic example of how our data can provide tangible evidence of what is happening with beverage industry customers when the opposite is seen as facts without proof. What else are you assuming incorrectly? If you are not working with us, you should. Your competitors probably do. We are the beverage platform that best manages your on-premise business. We help spirits companies, wineries, wine groups, national breweries, distributors, importers, and non-alcoholic beverage companies. Last weekend we attended SommCon Conference & Beverage Expo - a world leading wine and spirits expo comprising of tastings, education, networking, mentorship and competitions. It was our first time exhibiting in the US, and was a bit last minute, but we decided to enter the wine competition, the SommCon 2024 Concours d'Vin. Now we knew that : - the competition was blind - we were being judged against alcohol wines - there was no category for non-alcoholic And guess what? BOLLE Blanc de Blancs and BOLLE Rosé both won Silver medals ! Let’s dwell on this for a moment. A panel of top sommeliers and Masters of Wine, not knowing we were non-alcoholic and judging us against full alcohol wine criteria, gave both of our wines silver medals!! Wow. One judge spoke to us after the results were out saying "I didn't know you were non-alcoholic - we awarded you Silver - that’s incredible" The feedback from the rest of the show was amazing. We had Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine, CEOs, Distributors, Owners stunned at the quality of our product. This is the standard that BOLLE sets itself. We don't really care to compete with other non-alcoholic wines, we want to be compared to the best wines. Once again, BOLLE has proved itself to be not just a delicious drink but a wine that can go up against alcoholic wines and win! Tasting is Bollieving #wine #competition #winning #bestwine #incredible

United States wine consumption is on a stark decline. According to the Wine Institute, 2023’s 2.68 gallons of total wine per resident rates just above 2010 levels. Many factors contribute to these falling numbers, but within the wine industry concern over the rise of the Neo-Prohibition movement is most striking. Believing wine’s narrative has been lost amid the larger alcohol abstinence messaging, MacNeil joined forces with two wine industry communicators, Gino Colangelo, president of Colangelo and Partners, and Kimberly Charles, founder and president of Charles Communications Associates, to launch an international campaign called, Come Over October, encouraging wine lovers to gather together and share a glass of wine in October. “For its eleven-thousand-year history, wine has been a communal beverage that brings people together. It’s a beverage of friendship – creating new friendships and deepening old,” she says. “This story is not being told.” Come Over October Karen MacNeil Gino Colangelo Colangelo & Partners Willamette Valley Wineries Association Abbey Road farm Hispanics in Wine & Spirits, Inc. Some interesting and exciting news in the #drink industry this week: 1. Pernod Ricard has announced that it has agreed to sell its international strategic wine brands to Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL). A consortium of investors, AWL is the owner of Accolade Wines. The sale covers brands in Australia, New Zealand, and Spain owned and produced by Pernod Ricard Winemakers. The portfolio includes Jacob’s Creek, Orlando, St Hugo, Stoneleigh, Brancott Estate, Church Road, Campo Viejo, Ysios, Tarsus, and Azpilicueta. The deal also includes seven wineries. 2. Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop – the ready-to-drink cocktail brand fronted by rappers Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg – has landed in the UK. 3. Bottling giant Refresco has agreed to acquire plant-based drinks maker Frías Nutrición S.A.U. from Alantra Private Equity and the founding family for an undisclosed sum. Spain-headquartered Frías produces private-label plant-based drinks, including almond, rice, hazelnut and soy varieties for Spanish retailers. 4. Almost four years after launching its wildly popular subscription, Pret A Manger has become the latest coffee chain to ditch it. Under the current system, subscribers who pay a monthly fee of £30 get up to five 'free' coffees a day. But from September, Pret will offer up to five half-price coffees a day for £10 a month, which it says will "continue to be the best offer on the high street". The change also ends the 20% discount on food for subscribers. 5. Gusbourne is the latest English winemaker to be put up for sale as the London-listed company revealed this morning that Lord Ashcroft is open to selling his majority shareholding. A statement from the sparkling wine producer said it had been notified by Lord Ashcroft that he wanted to open discussions with the board to explore “various strategic options”, including a possible sale of his 67% stake. #shareholder #sparklingwine #freecoffee

Food & Drink Services Updates on Latest Business Offers. Title: Buy Argentinian Wine Online from Great Wines Direct Link: https://lnkd.in/eNvFH8Kz The 5th biggest wine producer worldwide, Argentina has been making fine wines since the16th century. Argentinian wines have their origins in Spain, with vine cuttings having been brought to South America during the Spanish colonisation. In the past, Argentine winemakers had a lot more interest in producing in quality rather than quality, however during the 1990s, the lucrative possibilities of the export market promoted an improvement in the quality of the wines being produced with the result that Argentina is now South America’s most prevalent wine exporter. #Argentinianwines #buywineonline #betterwine #greatwinesdirect #wines #qualitywines #winestore #drinks #foodanddrinks #food
