It's an absolute delight when customers validate my intention: "The book is very educational and easy for kids to understand about the concepts of money while colouring the book" And the money habit book proves to be a fantastic festive gift according to another customer: "I bought this as a gift as I didn’t want to give something that was just shiny and superficial, and found out from the parents that it sparked the kid’s imagination so much that they kept asking questions on what they were colouring in and had deep interest in the answers." However, there are some challenges: - Each child has a specific time window when they are available to receive their gift (maybe they're asleep 😴 or out playing 🛝). - Santa's sleighs have a capacity limit 🛷, and given the massive scale of this operation, he must decide how many helpers (sleigh drivers) are needed to complete all the deliveries efficiently. Here's the catch: 🦌 The reindeers travel at 1000 km/h, and they go in a straight line 🛤️ from one house to another. 🎯 The goal? 1. Determine how many sleigh drivers Santa needs. 2. 🎉 New Year’s Eve: A Sobering Reminder About Drinking and Driving 🚨 New Year’s Eve is a time for celebration, but it’s also one of the most dangerous nights on the road. Did you know that traffic fatalities involving alcohol-impaired drivers increase by over 100% compared to the average night? 🚫 Nearly 50% of all fatal crashes on New Year’s Eve involve alcohol. 🚫 On this night, more than 300 lives are lost annually in the U.S. due to impaired driving. 🚫 Driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.08% or higher not only endangers lives but can also result in severe legal and financial consequences. Call a friend, arrange an uber, or take a bus if you are drinking and many lives will be spared.

Here’s how it works: kids and families in need write letters to Santa, sharing their wishes. These letters are then made available for anyone to adopt. You can choose a letter, fulfill the request, and make someone’s holiday brighter. It’s such a simple but powerful way to give back! So, imagine this – Santa Claus, the jolly old fellow, right? Supposedly the embodiment of kindness, the love for all the well-behaved children. But if you actually look at how things work in practice, it's a bit of a different story, isn’t it? There’s the good kids, the ones who do their homework, say "please" and "thank you" – and yes, they get their presents. Fair enough, that makes sense. But then, there are the bad kids. And what happens to them? They get presents too! Loads of them! It's like Christmas is some sort of reward for being a little menace. They're cheeky, they fight with their cousins at the Christmas dinner table, but hey, gifts all around! And then – and this is where it gets really mad – there are the poor kids. You know, the ones whose families aren’t rolling in it, the ones who don’t always get the latest gadgets or fancy clothes. What do they get? Nothing! Why? Because Santa – and just stick with me here – judges a child’s goodness based mainly on how much money their parents make! I kid you not! A kid with the latest iPhone under the tree must be far more well-behaved than one who doesn’t even have a proper TV. Of course, the Christmas presents come with a hefty dose of capitalism. Maybe next year, if your parents buy the right car, you'll get a little extra in your stocking. That’s Christmas these days. A real test of your parents’ tax bracket, isn’t it?

There’s more you can do for your grieving coworker than that DoorDash gift card… Here's what can help a colleague trying to balance grief and work, without putting a spotlight on their loss: Handle the Invisible Work: - No asking "what can I do?" - Just quietly take over the small tasks - Update team timelines without making it a thing - Keep projects moving without highlighting their absence Become Their Office Logistics Person: - Take detailed meeting notes they can reference later - Handle client communications when needed - Run interference on non-urgent requests Give the Gift of Zero Pressure: - Send those "no response needed" check-in texts - Don't expect immediate email replies– and remind colleagues not to, either - Keep showing up after everyone else goes back to normal - Let them have bad days The Professional Presence: - Save their seat in meetings if they’re running late - Speak up when they need backup - Create space for their grief at work - Remember their loss doesn't end when bereavement leave does Listen: gift cards are nice, but sometimes the most meaningful support is just... showing up. For many of us, this upcoming Friday is Black Friday - a day of planned and encouraged uber spending and consumption (at least the retail industry hopes). At SUPER, we love the idea of #CitizenFriday, the idea of 'citizen-ING' or using our agency as people to connect with others or nature instead of shopping. Jon’s book reminds us to think of ourselves as citizens before consumers because when we do, we’re more likely to participate, volunteer and come together to make our communities and society stronger. For those of us in the United States, this might be a better way to think of giving thanks this Thanksgiving holiday. We learned about this program from Re-Action Collective and Jon Alexander's New Citizen Project and want to share the idea with you. Another ADSW over! Thanks to everyone at Masdar and our incredible suppliers for making it all happen. So much learned, so many connections made, and plenty to look forward to. When you are part of a small company chasing bold, ambitious goals, it’s often those closest to us who quietly make sacrifices along the way. So, to my wife, Angela Commane, I would like to apologise for: 1) Being rubbish at Christmas, including but not limited to demonstrating low engagement in the tradition of Santa presents, maintaining a generally substandard standard of present wrapping, failing to contribute meaningfully to Christmas cooking despite consuming more than my fair share of the festive feast, and engaging in unauthorized phone usage, such as checking emails during a family screening of "Love Actually". 2) A poor level of attendance to child and school-related activities, including but not limited to missing Freddie’s cross-country silver achievement (as evidenced in the attached photo), failing to participate equally in school pick-ups, consistently forgetting about homework until late Sunday afternoons, and being absent from several family dinners due to remaining in the office. 3) Inadequate support of her entrepreneurship, including but not limited to neglecting to supervise children entering and leaving the house as they create unnecessary noise and mess, excessively relying on her to ensure the household is well-maintained (which encroached on her work time), and failing to act as a reliable second opinion or source of support. Overall, these actions demonstrate a disregard for the balance required for her to foster both family harmony and professional success.
