West African gold explorer Asara Resources Limited (ASX:AS1, OTC:GMRMF) has struck a deal with private gold exploration company BIC West Africa Limited (BIC) for the sale of its non-core Kouri and Babonga gold projects in Burkina Faso. The transaction, valued at US$2.2 million – or around A$3.25 million – includes an upfront non-refundable payment of US$550,000 (A$810,804) already received, a second payment of US$550,000 (A$810,804) due upon SPA execution and a final payment of US$1.1 million (A$1.62 million) upon completion. Funds from this sale will be allocated to advance the Kada Gold Project in Guinea and to repay the remaining portion of a convertible note, making Asara debt-free. Asara will divest 100% of the issued capital in its wholly owned subsidiary, Golden Rim Resources Burkina SARL (GMRB), which holds the licences for the Kouri and Babonga projects. It's great to see the positive reaction on the Great Pacific Gold transaction on Tinga Copper & Gold Corp., but real value in these situations is created by the teams on the ground- through good exploration including drilling. As we enter into an ultra active period in Papua New Guinea and Australia - I look forward to keeping everybody updated here. We have worked hard for the past years to be positioned well for a bull market in gold and copper and I think that macro setting is coming into reality now. https://lnkd.in/grKdt_Tz

#ResponsibleMining in #Africa: Certifications as #Catalysts for #Change Recently, I had the privilege of exploring the intricate world of mineral certification during the "ICGLR Strategy for Artisanal and Small Scale Gold Mining" in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) under the auspices of the Centre d'Expertise, d'Evaluation et de Certification (CEEC) Beyond the KPCS, the DRC is also implementing the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) certification mechanism. This Regional Certification Mechanism (RCM) mandates a regional standard for certifying minerals, particularly the 3Ts (#tin, #tantalum, #tungsten) and gold, within ICGLR Member States. (Stay tuned for more insights on this mechanism in upcoming discussions.) This brings us to a critical question in the heart of Africa's mineral-rich landscape: Can #certifications transform the mining industry? What frameworks best align with the unique needs of Africa's Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) sector? Could the #CRAFT CODE offer a beacon of hope, tailor-made for the realities of ASM in Africa? How might these certifications encourage the #formalization and #commercialization of ASM minerals, leading to more ethical and responsible mining practices? We also need to consider the lessons from schemes that haven't delivered as expected. What #success stories and challenges have you observed in your country? #ShelsAMine #HerThoughts2024 #EthicalMining #ResponsibleSourcing #AfricaMining #AfricaMining #ResponsibleSourcing #EthicalCertifications

Oriole Resources PLC – pleased to announce Heads of Terms agreements (HoT) on two transformative deals with BCM International, to advance Oriole’s Bibemi and Mbe gold projects in Cameroon. BCM Group is a highly established Australian mining / civils contractor, headquartered in Ghana for the past 30 years, with a huge list of past mining projects and blue-chip clients. These deals see BCM earning in up to a 50% position on the Bibemi and Mbe licences, with a total $9.5m investment, and various success-based payments to Oriole further down the line, the level of which is subject to the number of resource ounces reported under JORC. The deals also allow Oriole to continue managing the exploration activities at Bibemi and Mbe, while retaining complete control over the remaining 4 licences in the highly-prospective Eastern Central Licence Package (CLP). On-the-ground fieldwork expected to start in Q1-2024. #goldexploration #cameroon #westafrica For Bibemi agreement see - https://lnkd.in/ejXYPpXW For Mbe agreement see - https://lnkd.in/eaWxMUS7
