One big takeaway from #COVID #AfterActionReports, including the one we wrote for a client: If you can’t process and share information at scale, you can’t serve people in an emergency. The Feds have figured this out, apparently, and want your input. “The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) are seeking broad public input from entities across the health care readiness community on a national, all-hazards standardized set of #EssentialElementsOfInformation (#EEIs) and vendor-neutral data collection mechanisms for hospital data that drive action for emergency preparedness and response. This input will inform efforts to provide recommendations for a standardized lens into the readiness of, stress on, and resources available in hospitals before, during, and after emergencies.” Reply by 18 December 2023. Delighted to announce the completion of the WHO/ICRC Basic Emergency Care: Conflict-Related Injuries certification from the World Health Organization Throughout the course, I dedicated myself to mastering the essential components of trauma management, with a particular focus on the critical CABCDE assessment and life-saving interventions tailored for various traumatic injuries. From blast injuries to penetrating wounds, burns, and acute conditions, the training provided me with a comprehensive understanding of how to navigate complex medical emergencies effectively. What excites me most is the practical applicability of this knowledge in real-world scenarios, especially in demanding environments such as conflict zones. The course has instilled a heightened readiness and confidence to confront high-stress situations head-on, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients needing medical assistance. Moreover, I am pleased to note how this experience further reinforced my internal medicine passion.
