March is National Nutrition Month in the USA. 🌱 Since this topic is important to us and our work is based on promoting healthy and sustainable eating, we can't keep quiet about it 😉 . This awareness month has a separate theme for each week of March, and it starts with: "Eat on a budget" 💰 . Sometimes it's hard to find affordable options, especially when switching to a healthier, whole food diet and with ongoing inflation. A whole food, plant-based diet can provide affordable, yet nutritious and delicious foods. Whole grains, legumes and vegetables are some of the most affordable, especially when bought in season and locally sourced. 🍇🥕 🥔 It is also more sustainable as it reduces water and land consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and much more. What's your tip for eating healthy on a budget? Write it in the comments below! 👇 #PlantBasedNutrition #NationalNutritionMonth #PANInternational #NutritionMatters #PlantBased

In today's modern food landscape, the notion of "healthy food" can sometimes be misleading. Despite being labeled as healthy, some food products may not necessarily promote overall well-being due to hidden sugars, additives, or processing methods. Our current food habits often prioritize convenience and taste over nutritional value, leading us to consume items that may appear healthy on the surface but lack essential nutrients or contain harmful ingredients. It's crucial to reevaluate our understanding of what truly constitutes a healthy diet in the context of our contemporary eating habits. By being more mindful of ingredient lists, processing techniques, and overall nutritional content, we can make informed choices that support our health and well-being in the long run. #FoodAFair #FoodTech #Networking #FoodExpo #RetailIndustry #NetworkingOpportunity #HyderabadEvents #BusinessConnections

Should we truly consider using the Nutriscore on every type of product? Last weekend, as I strolled through the supermarket, I genuinely looked at the Nutriscore on products. What really fascinated me was that: Most items displaying the Nutriscore are ultra-processed foods. I understand the intention behind the Nutriscore: "As a front-of-pack nutritional label which converts the nutritional value of food and beverages into a simple overall score." But are we missing the primary goal here? To guide people to a healthy life? Recent research increasingly links ultra-processed foods to specific health issues, and these are the products frequently displaying the Nutriscore. From my closer network I know that people opt for items with an "A" Nutriscore assuming they are healthy. Seeing numerous Nutri-scores on ultra-processed foods questions me: Should we continue using the Nutriscore on these products? Are we not losing sight of the intended purpose, making the world healthy? 🤔 #nutriscore #ultraprocessedfoods #healthawareness #labels #NutriscoreConfusion #publichealth

Yogurt is a staple in many households, where it serves as a quick breakfast or a satisfying snack, especially when paired with fresh fruit and other toppings. This dairy delight hasn’t changed significantly over the years, although twists like Go-Gurt certainly had their 15 minutes of fame (and then some). As consumers turn to healthier diets, functional foods, and sustainable options, it’s no surprise that yogurt has become the focus of the transformative power of consumer demand. It’s already packed with protein and, in some cases, ample probiotics. https://lnkd.in/gWaJPvGJ yes yes yes! we need to stop centring Eurocentric food patterns. "describing the Mediterranean diet as the paragon and holding it up over other forms of eating actually creates a form of food shaming. And by putting this culture’s way of eating on a pedestal, we’re sending the signal that other cultures and identities, and their ways of eating, are “less than” or unhealthy. " Many countries eat well, balanced and nutritiously, but we don't hear about it nearly as much as Eurocentric eating patterns, nor is it prescribed in the same way. Clearly there's room for all food types and patterns, and ensuring something is culturally relevant will help with uptake and sustainablity, which, if we're looking to improve health, is just as important to consider. #culturalfoodsfit #healthyeatingpatterns #foodshaming #foodhierarchy #healthequity
