I was absolutely stoked to hear from McDonough Innovation's legendary William McDonough during this first week of the Climatebase Fellowship! What an inspiration for all of the fellows passionate about #climatesolutions. Some top takeaways and quotes: 🌎 "Nature wants to be celebrated for what it is, not taken for the single-use sources we use it for." Nature doesn't have natural resources--it has sources. It's our jobs as humans to turn them into perpetual resources so we can use them over and over again without having to go back to nature to take the sources. 🌎 "Being less bad is not being good." If you think about it, net zero goals (while noble and worth having) work toward a state that is "less bad," or a world that is less unsafe, unhealthy, unjust, polluted, driven economically. However, eco-effective goals suggests actions toward being *more good*, or a world that is delightfully diverse, safe, healthy and just world--with clean air, soil, water and power--economically, equitably, ecologically and elegantly enjoyed. 🌎 "Design at all scales. Think galactically and act molecularly as opposed to think globally and act locally." McDonough's right--as a human race, we're operating at such an impressive level and awesome, unprecedented access to scientific advancements. We have the power to be highly intentional in our designs toward a better planet.

We need a climate for change. People and the ecosystems we live in, in this Digital Age, have great capabilities to improve and sustain the quality of life for all. If we, public, private and otherwise, interact and team up. As we face and urgently need to deal with many societal challenges, we need a climate for change. This new, open access book is quite relevant, to start understanding how to address various Societal Challenges in a multimodal and intermodal manner: Automated Vehicles as a Game Changer for Sustainable Mobility (and Logistics), published by Springer Nature: https://lnkd.in/e5yW6S6s What are the benefits, which are the challenges to achieve those, and how to get the right stakeholders onboard and ecosystems, infrastructures, values and interests aligned? Congratulations on the editors, in particular Guy Fournier, Adriaan Boos, Dimitri Konstantas and Danielle Attias, as well as the other contributors to this book. I am honored to have been requested and able to write one of forewords, where I elaborate on The Five Ts: Transparency, Trust, Teamwork, Try & Transform. I welcome you to enjoy reading this - free - publication, use its valuable content, and join an ever-increasing community that is determined to foster the climate for change and focus on making the difference, for the short, mid and long term, whether local, regional, global or otherwise. #TypicallyArthurArthur's Legal, Strategies & Systems, ULTIMO project, Avenue Project, #InstituteForFutureOfLiving & #Flyve

Managing Director and Partner at BCG | Office Leader BCG Vienna | Health Insurance and Health Systems Expert with focus on Data and Analytics
Curious about how we can tackle complex #sustainability challenges while engaging in an interactive and enjoyable way? 🌱 Recently, some #BCGVienna office colleagues and I participated in BCG's ‘Roads to Net Zero’ workshop, organized and facilitated by our BCG Vienna #GreenTeam. This serious game, developed by BCG, explores #NetZero pathways for all major economic sectors through a challenging #climate puzzle. ♻️ We use this interactive tool to initiate discussions and enhance our understanding of the sustainability issues facing various sectors. The workshop focuses on the drivers of emissions, the technical and behavioral levers to reduce them, and the planetary bottlenecks we encounter. 🌍 In line with the educational approach of #ClimateFresk, we continue to deepen our knowledge of existing levers and their complementarity. 📚 A big thank you to our Paris colleagues for creating this outstanding game. At BCG, we are committed to deepening our knowledge on this critical topic through such innovative workshops. 🚀 #BCGinAustria #BCGinCentralEurope #ClimateAction
