Okay, so Dyson job fair update. End of day one. We have a venue in Bristol now booked in for the 5th August. It will be during the day. Now capacity is 300. What we need: - employers with jobs that are signed off, good to go. You are in a position to hire, not some speculative 'talent pooling' endeavour You will get an opportunity to speak, to meet, to make connection with hundreds of individuals. For brand positioning, tangibility of getting in front of the people you want to, for some strategic talent attraction and acquisition it is a super unique opportunity. We have some world-class videography that you can call upon as part of that content piece. This is not just aimed at local businesses. ex-Dyson alumni are up and down the country. We also want some alternative speakers - whether that be Kickstarter, people that have started their own design agency/product business - ultimately that will be part of the thinking for many that are in this redundancy process. What are those alternative career paths for individuals who maybe now see this as an opportunity to explore. To make this happen, and to ideally make this free for those attending, we are going to need high levels of sponsorship to facilitate something of this scale. I can't sit back, watch 1000 people be made redundant and just do nothing. What made this event truly special was the meticulous organization led by the students themselves. With surgical precision and unwavering dedication, they orchestrated every detail, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants. Their passion and hard work shone through, setting a shining example for all who witnessed their efforts. The atmosphere was electric, with happy faces and a palpable sense of excitement filling the air. The campus buzzed with energy and possibility, as dreams took flight and aspirations soared. Happy Friday! It has been a very busy week (and actually a month), a whirlwind of activity! 🌪️ First off, I wrapped up a vocational identification course on navigating career crises and transitioning to new professions with Career Management School. Stay alert on the open lecture in April. 📚 Completed projects with two clients and finalized resume audits, gearing up for a focus group of 6 people starting Monday to guide on compiling and fine-tuning resumes for upcoming job opportunities, as we target to complete those before Jobspin’s jobs fair in April. 💼 I feel grateful and excited to share insights on the “method of impossible goals” method at the mentors week hosted by Femme Palette this week. The interest in this approach is growing, and I’ll be hosting open classes soon. 🌟 Also, honored to have confirmed speaking engagements at three events, two in April (on-line and offline) and another later in the year. 🎤 And the last cherry 🍒 on the cake - 3 participants of February job search funnel lecture got jobs. 75% conversion on result after applying the guidance and tips. And of course staying motivated. It’s been a fulfilling week, and I’m optimistic about the rewards this year will bring. The TYS Zone is a game-changing digital experience transforming the way businesses and job seekers connect. To anyone who has branding fall under their job umbrella, never sleep on the opportunity to get out and talk to your target audiences. Trade shows, community fairs, job fairs, these are prime opportunities to tell your brand’s story in real life. To have your target hear from you in person - to hear the excitement and stories about your brand from a human in front of them - is value that can be tough to replicate across other media forms. I always think of it like this: People take in information differently. Some are visual, some hear a message once and that’s all they need.
