3 years before and 3 years following today The European election has just taken place, and already the next election takes place: the EMVA Board of Directors will be elected the day after tomorrow at the general assembly in Gdansk, Poland. Dr. Christoph Garbe, the member of the Board of Directors since 2021, summarizes the achievements during his tenure: "I am committed to new technologies and young companies to bring forward our industry in different verticals. The EMVA now gives startups better opportunities to present themselves to a wider audience of established companies. At the Business Conference this year, for example, there is a dedicated slot for startups to present themselves. The EMVA convention booth, such as at the #Logimat, has also been opened to members, so that young member companies can also exhibit to an international audience at a low cost. Overall, the focus is now more on startups and young companies. However, the progress is not yet sufficient. I will continue to work on bringing startups together with established companies and offering them a platform in the EMVA. It is also important that new technologies are not only presented through research (as part of the European Machine Vision Forum), but explicitly with startup slots, etc.” He has applied to be elected for a second term at the EMVA general assembly.  Don't miss news about the choice that will impact the European image processing industry. The European Innovation Council (EIC) has just approved €1.4 billion to support European deep tech research and high-potential #startups next year. 🟣The EIC Work Programme 2025 is built around three main #funding schemes: 1️⃣ EIC Pathfinder - €262 million for multi-disciplinary research teams to undertake visionary early-stage technology research and development with the potential to lead to technology breakthroughs (grants up to €4 million). 2️⃣ EIC Transition - €98 million to turn research results into innovation opportunities, following up on results generated by EIC Pathfinder, European Research Council Proof of Concept and Horizon Europe Pillar 2 (societal challenges) collaborative projects (grants up to €2.5 million). 3️⃣ EIC Accelerator - €634 million for start-ups and SMEs to develop, commercialise and scale up innovations with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones (grants below €2.5 million, investments from €500 000 to €10 million).
