On 10/7/24, we celebrated the launch of our new brand, #Metlen Energy & Metals, at the Volos Plant, a facility with a long and distinguished history. It was originally founded as the METKA metal construction plant in 1962. The event was characterised by a warm and convivial atmosphere, reminiscent of a large family playing an important role in the wider region of Magnesia. We collectively welcomed the advent of a new era for our company. This new chapter will guide us to achieve even greater heights and significant milestones. It will demonstrate that our company is at the forefront of its field and establish a strong international presence in even more countries. Vivian Bouzali

The 9th Hellenic Responsible Business Awards honored companies promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and development. The ceremony took place on July 9, 2024, at the Wine Museum, with the support of the Ministries of Development, Environment, and Energy, SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises | ΣΕΒ σύνδεσμος επιχειρήσεων και βιομηχανιών, and SETE. #Metlen Energy & Metals was recognized at the Hellenic Responsible Business Awards with a Gold award in the "Supply Chain" category for their initiative in Responsible Supply Chain Management, and a Silver award in the "Gender Equality" category for their FemStem initiative | Accelerator of skills, employability & entrepreneurship for women in STEM.

On Monday 08/07, #Metlen Energy & Metals (formerly MYTILINEOS) hosted a special all-day media workshop in a picturesque setting on the Athenian Riviera. The objective of the briefing was to provide journalists with comprehensive and detailed information about #Metlen's activities, while also offering them the chance to engage in dialogue with the company's Executive Leadership Team. In particular, the workshop included presentations from Vivian Bouzali (Chief Corporate Affairs & Communication Officer), Christos Gavalas (Chief Treasury & IR Officer), Eleftheria Kontogianni (Chief Finance Officer), Elenos Karaindros, Chief Strategy and M&A Officer, Yiannis Kalafatas, Chief Executive Director, Energy, Dimitris Stefanidis, Chief Executive Director, Metallurgy & Dinos Benroubi, Vice Chairman & CEO of METKA ATE.

Georgios Galanis, Director of Sustainable Development at #Metlen, participated as a keynote speaker in the highly interesting roundtable titled “Supply Chain Management” organized by the Global Sustain company on 25 June. Ηe highlighted and discussed the importance of the supply chain in the modern business environment. He also presented the initiatives undertaken by #Metlen for the development of a Responsible Supply Chain, as well as the company's supplier evaluation platform based on ESG criteria. https://shorturl.at/TIuy0

Engineers in action…once again! The mid year presentations have just been completed for our Wave 7 Engineers in Action graduate program! We are incredibly proud of our talented engineers who showcased the progress of their projects, what they have learned and how they have contributed both in our HQ in Athens as well as in Aluminium of Greece . With the support of #Metlen, the Pop2See team travelled to Lisbon to participate in the global student social entrepreneurship competition, The Hult Prize 2024. The theme of this year's competition was "Unlimited", and Pop2See presented an innovative project that involved making everyday life easier for people with vision loss, using artificial intelligence. Out of 9,400 entries, Pop2See was selected to participate in the Global Summits, where they competed alongside 360 other teams. Of these, 52 qualified for the Lisbon Summits. While Pop2See did not advance to the next stage, their performance was noteworthy, ranking among the top European teams. We are pleased to have provided support to such a team and project, and we hope that the Pop2See team will continue to work with dedication and creativity to enhance the daily lives of individuals with vision impairment.

The annual General Assembly of the SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises | ΣΕΒ σύνδεσμος επιχειρήσεων και βιομηχανιών Business Council for Sustainable Development (SEVBCSD) took place on Wednesday 26/6/24. At this meeting, a new Board of Directors for the period 2024-2026 was elected. The Board of Directors includes Dimitrios Papadopoulos, Executive Board Member & Chief Corporate Governance and Sustainability Officer at #Metlen. At the first meeting of the Board, C. Alexopoulos, Deputy CEO of Helleniq Energy, was elected as President of the Board. The SEV Business Council for Sustainable Development (SEVBCSD) continues to set the standard for entrepreneurship, developing strategies, policies and targeted interventions that enhance competitiveness and promote the green transition of businesses.

On 26/6/24, we celebrated the launch of our new brand, #Metlen Energy & Metals, at the Aluminium Plant of Greece, the only fully vertically integrated aluminium plant in Europe. We are one of the few industries investing in the utilisation of bauxite residues, the production of rare earths like scandium, and meeting Europe's gallium needs. All these efforts are encapsulated in our new name, #Metlen. This name change will bring new milestones, challenges that we will overcome together and a position at the forefront of international business. Our name will become synonymous with quality and innovation, while maintaining our Greek identity.

Ioanna Pappa, Head of Talent, Learning and Development at #Metlen, gave a presentation to postgraduate students in Human Resource Management at the Alba Graduate Business School, on 29 June. She discussed current trends in learning and development, the impact of artificial intelligence on the industry, and the importance of understanding the business and acting as a constant business partner, regardless of job level.
