Why do events charge vendors? Because they’re doing it wrong. Hey LinkedIn Connections, Soliciting vendors for events that’s not 100% shopping, signals that the funding or event model went wrong. Or event not yet evolved from a failing practice. Perhaps event not properly budgeted or sponsored. Events should have sponsors. While adding vendors is a quick bandaid to budgetary shortfalls, there still exists a sore spot. Everybody will feel it later. Even vendor events that are 100% shopping 🛍️ can improve their model and lesson vendor remorse. How? By turning event into a popup shop store with singular checkout. Customers leave with one transaction instead of ten or more (if that). At these events, vendors serve as volunteers in the shop, a less intimidating role which is more attractive to shoppers. Shoppers shop at their leisure taking items to one or more checkout points. Take time to plan or plan to fail. Time to evolve. End vendor remorse. And vendors look around.
