Yes, you can feel you’re really in Kong’s cart, jumping onto a completely different rail on this coaster opening at Universal Studios Japan. Coaster Talk, a theme park attraction tracker, shared a sneak peek at the technology being tested in the new Donkey Kong Country section of Super Nintendo World. The technology is mind-blowing! It’s crazy how these ride vehicles mimic the movement of the mine carts in the Donkey Kong games, jumping from one roller coaster track to another. In this deeply immersive simulation, you trust Universal Studios with your life as a monkey, jumping over tracks from your perspective. Theme-park attractions insider, Orlando Park Stop, reported that Universal Creative patented this technology as a “Boom Coaster,” allowing the ride vehicle to jump from visible “broken” tracks, which are a part of the story, while operating on a concealed track below. Although positive and exciting, the lack of an official announcement for the Donkey Kong ride in Epic Universe is unknown.
