✈️ Global leaders in the air cargo industry will gather in Hong Kong (SAR), China, from March 12th to 14th, for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) World Cargo Symposium (#WCS). This is the largest and most prestigious annual air cargo event, making it an important moment for the industry and the world. 🌎 At a time when the air cargo industry is at a crucial crossroads, faced with the urgent task of reducing fuel consumption to mitigate its environmental impact, one of the main topics of the WCS will be: Driving Sustainable and Inclusive Growth. 👉🏽 Reducing fuel consumption, and consequently, carbon emissions, is not just a challenge, but a call to action for innovation, collaboration, and commitment to sustainability. The 36th International Air Transport Association (IATA) Ground Handling Conference (IGHC) will focus on integrating more sustainable practices into all aspects of ground handling operations. Icelandair will host IGHC in Reykjavík, Iceland, from 7-9 May 2024, with discussions focusing on achieving the industry’s net zero CO2 emissions by 2050 goal, talent retention and development, and strategic investments for long-term financial success. "For aviation to grow its economic and social benefits, effective and more sustainable ground operations are crucial. By prioritising people, more sustainable operations, and financial resilience we are building a more robust ground handling sector.
