My Passion for my PHD study is a God given mandate. May I see it through and also, its implementation. I exist solely for a purpose, and this is one of them. Extracted from my PHD proposal. "In 1988 PanAmSat (PAS) became the first private satellite operator to directly compete with INTELSAT and attempt to break its monopoly. The monopoly argument which contended it, was more nomically efficient to construct in the case of a single satellite network connecting different countries as opposed to building several competing satellite systems, gave rise to the formation of INTELSAT as a single monopoly provider of satellite services".

Advancing economic security: Charting a path towards GNSS independence with alternative PNT strategies The London Economics report and the Blackett Review collectively stress the UK's significant dependence on GNSS, with a focus on the economic vulnerabilities from GNSS disruptions, suggesting the need for resilient alternative PNT solutions. According to the reports, a GNSS outage of 24 hours could cost the UK economy £1.4 billion, underscoring the urgency for alternatives to safeguard essential services and national security through robust national PNT infrastructures. The Blackett Review emphasizes the critical need for the UK to enhance its resilience against GNSS disruptions, focusing on key sectors' dependency assessment, the implementation of GNSS-independent backup systems, and the formulation of a national strategy involving cross-government coordination. It highlights the importance of legal and regulatory measures to mitigate interference risks and encourages the development of PNT technology through research and innovation collaborations. Several countries are already closely looking at the Swedish model, which mandates a GNSS-independent backup for all 5G licenses, reflecting a widespread acknowledgment of the need for resilient PNT solutions. 🛰 What is necessary to support space's contribution to European competitiveness? Following the "Space Council" conclusions on the contribution of space to Europe’s competitiveness, EARSC sent a letter to the European Commission emphasizing the necessity of an industrial strategy dedicated to the space sector. EARSC calls for a substantial and secure budget that supports international competition and ensures sovereign European and commercial access to space data and services sourced and managed within Europe.
