National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 18 – 24, 2023, and draws attention to the issue of diaper need in the U.S. A signature initiative of the National Diaper Bank Network launched in 2012, the National Diaper Need Awareness Week provides individuals, organizations, communities, and elected officials the opportunity to engage in real talk and simple actions. By working together we can ensure that all babies have access to clean diapers and other basic necessities required for them to thrive and reach their full potential. One in two U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. Here are a few things you can do to participate: - Host a diaper drive and donate to your favorite nonprofit organization, such as The Treehouse. - The Treehouse is always in need of size 4, 5 and 6 diapers. - Request proclamations from elected officials. - Engage in Real Talk on social media via #EndDiaperNeed and #BasicsArentBasic - Make a donation to NDBN and/or a local diaper program.

Did you know nearly 1 in 3 families struggle to afford diapers and diapering supplies? The Utah Diaper Distribution Demonstration Project (UDDRP) is here to make a difference because no family should have to choose between buying diapers and other essentials like food or utilities. This vital program supports families across Utah, helping to alleviate the financial burden of diapering supplies. By providing access to these essential items, we're not just reducing stress over finances; we're also contributing to the health and well-being of young children. How you can help! We alway welcome donations of diapers, diapering supplies and financial contributions. By contributing to UDDRP, you're directly supporting families in need, allowing them to focus on what truly matters - the health and happiness of their children. Donations are accepted at Utah Diaper Bank or LITTLE LAMBS FOUNDATION FOR KIDS INC or you can contribute a financial donation here: https://bit.ly/4attVZ4. If you'd like to make a large financial or supply donation, you can contact CAP Utah Executive Director, Clint Cottam at: clint@caputah.org. 🎉 Exciting Announcement! 🎉 On Wednesday, June 12th, we at Life Ed Qld will be hosting our first-ever Giving Day: Hand Up, Stand Up for Qld Kids! For 24 hours, every donation will be MATCHED thanks to our generous partners. This is a unique opportunity to double your impact and help us reach even more children across Queensland. Why is this so crucial? Every year, the Department of Child Safety receives over 30,000 notifications of child abuse and neglect. Many children are unsafe in their own homes, and the true scale of this issue is even larger. Our Safe Kids, Safe Bodies program empowers children with the knowledge to protect themselves and recognise abuse. On Giving Day, every $30 raised will fund this essential program for one child in a disadvantaged community. Here's how you can make a difference: 1. SAVE the date: Wednesday, June 12th. Remember, your donation will be matched for 24 hours only. 2. WATCH this video: Understand why your support is critical on this day. 3. SHARE this post: Please help us spread the word to others who are passionate about protecting children. Let's come together to ensure every child feels safe and supported. Your participation can transform lives, offering hope and a brighter furture to those who need it most!! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/guqah2Re Join us in making a real difference for Qld kids!

Diaper need is a prevalent issue, especially in the wake of historic inflation, systemic racism, and job security. Over the past 2+ years, WestSide Baby’s responded to this ongoing crisis by increasing our distribution of diapers by over 60% to a growing network of partner organizations providing critical care to our community. The Bulk Diaper Program is WestSide Baby’s method of distribution to address diaper need with an emphasis on equity and innovation. This program is designed to address diaper need at a large scale in hard-to-reach communities by removing barriers and obstacles for organizations and the families they serve. ---- This week is Diaper Need Awareness Week – learn more about our Bulk Distribution program: https://lnkd.in/g5cCq9wR There is no better time to tell a friend about the issue of diaper need in our community, and to be part of the solution by supporting WestSide Baby and other diaper banks - donate now: https://lnkd.in/gBrh6uu5

Among the 54 million Americans 65 or older, there is a 70% chance that at some point, a senior will need long-term care services. For most people, that care is provided in their homes and often by those who are unpaid, such as spouses, adult children and other loved ones. One relief program designed for caregivers is respite care, where a loved one can be cared for without family aid for up to several hours or days a week. Mary Ann Mondragon, who is a caregiver specialist at Caregivers SOS, a WellMed charitable foundation program, said there is lots of help available. “We have training. We have classes for the caregivers. We have a stress busting class that will actually be starting in April. And it’s a nine week class,” Mondragon said.
