Veterinarian Dr. Greg Able recently visited our Day Center to treat our clients’ cats and dogs. He provided overall checkups, including giving flea and tick medication and shots, and offered assistance and guidance in medical emergencies for hurt or sick animals. He also scheduled follow-up treatment for puppies to get their necessary shots and vaccines. This past Saturday, the First Stop team was proud to participate in the annual End Addiction HSV walk at Big Spring Park. It was a day filled with connection, remembrance, and hope. This event is more than just a walk; it’s a vital community gathering where people come together to share resources, remember loved ones lost to addiction, and learn life-saving skills, including how to use NALOXONE. We were moved to see so many in our community, including families and individuals, come together to support each other and fight against addiction. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared their stories, and learned with us. July 2023 ⏩ Now! One year later, and we could not be more thankful for the growth we have experienced! Since the completion of our new facility, we have been able to significantly expand our reach and support within the community. This state-of-the-art building has allowed us to assist more of our homeless neighbors, increasing our daily aid and providing a safe, welcoming space for those in need. With enhanced services and resources, we're now able to offer comprehensive support including meals, showers, case management, and enrichment programs. Thank you for being a part of our mission to encounter, connect, and empower our homeless neighbors.
