Let’s talk about poop! Sound strange? Well not to the 20 American Medical Group Association (AMGA) member organizations who participated in AMGA Foundation’s Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening Best Practices Learning Collaborative in Indianapolis, Indiana this week for their second in-person meeting. This meeting marks midway through the Collaborative’s 18-month implementation phase to increase CRC screening rates among more than 4 million average risk patients age 45-75 by any modality. The healthcare organizations (HCOs) are reporting on measures and implementing interventions on CRC screening, follow-up after abnormal stool-based test, health equity and shared decision-making. Looking forward to the next phase in the collaborative and learning more of what the HCOs have accomplished. Thank you to our National Advisors Francis Colangelo, MD, MS-HQS, FACP, Laura Makaroff, and Theodore Levin; sponsor, Exact Sciences; and partner, American Cancer Society National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCRT) for participating and your support in this collective work. Increasing funding for medical research means that Peter Mac's 750 plus researchers can do even more to treat, and potentially cure, cancer! We applaud today's announcement from Federal Minister for Health and Aged Care Mark Butler! The $1.89 billion package includes a focus on cancers that have a low survival rate, and on reducing health inequities. There's additional funding for the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) - including more funding for clinical trials - and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). With more than 600 clinical trials currently underway at Peter Mac, we know how impactful these can be for people who are experiencing cancer. In many cases, they provide an avenue for hope and remission or recovery that would otherwise not be available. Along with our research colleagues across Australia we welcome today's announcement! There's so much to do. https://lnkd.in/gbJdrHyx

We're a proud member of Clinical Trials For All, a groundbreaking program aimed at making clinical trials more inclusive and accessible by educating patients & caregivers about the opportunities & advantages of research as care. At Realyze Intelligence, we believe in innovation through inclusion and this initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to work towards a future where every cancer patient is screened for clinical trials & has an opportunity to participate in research as care. The Realyze platform supports authentic diversity, equity & inclusion by design. The tools act as a force multiple to existing oncology clinical research teams enabling broad patient pre-screening. No surprise, the more patients you screen - the more authentically diverse your participant cohorts are. #ClinicalTrialsForAll #InclusiveHealthcare #Innovation #DiversityInMedicine #HealthcareEquity #AIOncology #AIinPrecisionOncology #CloseTheCareGap
