If any social landlords are supporting this I think what you can do to take this one step further is to enhance the mental health support for your tenants and not just focus on the needs of your staff. One organisation I have in mind causes so much stress and anxiety to its tenants that it’s their own actions and treatment of their tenants that causes them the biggest mental health crisis. So if you have to leave messages on your call systems to instruct your tenants to be respectful and kind to your staff, you must ask yourself why would tenants behave this way? Why would they get upset or cross, why would they need to behave this way and what is your organisation doing to get this response from your tenants? Just think of the Grenfell disaster and think of young Awaab, these are prime examples of the failures within the social housing sector and what happens when tenants are not valued or listened to. #mentalhealthawareness #mind #mentalhealthsupport #kindness #consideration #supporttenants #decenthome #respectfulstaff #removebarriers #listentopeoplesneeds #suicideprevention #selfharmprevention #safehomes #safecommunities #socialhousing #tenantsrights

During Mental Health Awareness Month, let's dive into the power of authentic conversations. 💬 We often default to 'I'm fine,' but what if we're not? From expressing 'I'm not fine' to indicating the need to talk or not, these words matter. Let's normalize reaching out and listening. Click the following link for some additional phrases from Mental Health America's Outreach Toolkit to encourage those vital dialogues. 💌 https://lnkd.in/gzdiSqkz

We often focus on sharing success stories, but it's equally important to address the challenges we encounter in the workplace. 💚 Creating a positive work environment is essential for promoting good mental health, yet mental well-being often becomes an oversight for employers and among co-workers. Encouraging open communication and nurturing a supportive culture that prioritises respect and inclusion are the initial steps in making a meaningful impact. Similarly, self-employed individuals can enhance their mental well-being and performance by maintaining a healthy work-life balance and setting clear boundaries. It's crucial to continue these conversations to foster positive change. Mental health is health. We've made steps forward collectively, but there's still more progress to be made 💪 #mentalhealth #wellbeing #workplacementalhealth #workplaceculture
Too often, this is not the case. We’re working to change that. Head to our website for guidance on how to talk about mental health at work 👉 https://bit.ly/3DTNNqD
