🎉 Exciting news 🎉 Our international innovative ‘DreamBig@WTW’ program has launched in its second year. This intensive program is delivered in partnership with WTW a leading global advisory and broking solutions company. DreamBig@WTW is a unique three-year program that supports young people aged 15-18, from marginalised communities in the United Kingdom to develop their business and life skills. Our mentees will have access to skills-based training, learning about all aspects of WTW’s People, Risk, and Capital business segments – including the vital skills of problem-solving, data analytics, and communication. Urban Synergy and WTW mentors will meet with youth monthly during the school year to help them build confidence to ‘dream big’ and develop skills in pursuing their future careers. The program also offers paid summer internships within a line of business at WTW and guidance to reinvest skills in their communities. Dorothy Wilkes, Co-Head of DreamBig, said: “There is no greater legacy than preparing those who come after us to achieve exponentially even greater things than we did. This program affords access into a financial area of business and society where minority and marginalized groups have historically been underrepresented and, in some cases, excluded, and we are catalyzing that change.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dvcB2rQ3 WTW #corporatepartnerships #youngprofessionals #socialmobility #mentorshipmatters #ukcharity

7 jobs that shaped my career Before I helped colleges enroll more students… I was a: - Door-to-door fertilizer sales rep - Owner of a lawn-cutting business - Short order cook - Highway Department grunt - Parks and Recreation grunt - Soccer coach - Soccer referee And that was all before I was 20. Those experiences helped me appreciate every kind of work. They taught me how to cooperate with others. They gave me a foundation of skills and attitudes that have served me well in my formal career. Job experience, internships, and apprenticeships all represent critical opportunities for higher ed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace. P.S. What’s the most unusual job you’ve ever had?

National Apprenticeship Week 2024!🚀 Excited to share my journey as the Culture & People Apprentice at Thornton & Ross for National Apprenticeship Week! 🌟 Check out the post to learn more about my time here so far and what an amazing experience it really is!👩🏼💼 #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #OneSTADA #GrowthMindset #CaringForPeoplesHealth
This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we’d like to share some stories from some of our Apprentices over the days ahead. 👩🏾💻 👨🏼⚕️ Madison joined Thornton & Ross in 2023 as a Culture & People Apprentice. Here she shares her thoughts around her journey so far and why there are countless reasons to join STADA Thornton & Ross. 🏭 🏢 🗺 “Two years ago, I did a one-week work experience in Human Resources, which I enjoyed. I wanted to continue to study when I left college but wasn’t sure if University would be the best option for me. So I looked into Apprenticeship opportunities in the West Yorkshire region through the government website and saw that Thornton & Ross were recruiting. I applied and was invited to an interview and assessment centre with other candidates. I was delighted when I was offered the role!" Madison added: "Six months in, I love my job and I wake up energised about the day ahead. Not only am I studying towards a Human Resources Support Level 3 qualification, I’m also gaining valuable experience and I learn lots from experienced team-mates. I joined the company at the same time as the annual Student Placement intake and we’ve got a real community with development activities and social events too. I love that I have a great job and get to study towards a qualification at the same time. No day is the same and I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved so far.” Take a look at our current Apprentice opportunities by visiting our careers site: https://lnkd.in/dEWrmGh
