What can re-entry look like in your community? In Prince George’s County, we work with amazing business partners and community leaders to offer mentorship, transitional housing, document preparation, and employment opportunities to our returning citizens. We are taking these necessary steps in an effort to lower recidivism across our County by ensuring successful work and life transitions of our formerly incarcerated residents. ✅ Watch these clips of our recently launched “Returning to Success” podcast on YouTube, hosted by our Returning Citizens Affairs Division (RCAD) Director, Michael Williams, MPA. Von discusses with Michael his story of turning around his situation and getting back on his feet after incarceration. Watch the full podcast episode on County Executive Alsobrooks’ YouTube: https://lnkd.in/ebn7xa9Y Through Von’s dedication to improvement and through coordination with RCAD, he is on his way to becoming a Masonry Mechanic with the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation. Von is now setting an example and leading others who may relate to his story towards a more fulfilled life and work that better serves our communities. Success stories like Von’s are possible. Find more success stories from other formerly incarcerated residents working with RCAD on our podcast. This work is made possible by our many amazing partners and community leaders, as well as through grant funding. #PGCSafeNeighborhoods Learn more about how employers and organization can get involved in our re-entry initiatives & programs at: mypgc.us/RCAD
